JOB PURPOSE
Designers at Byte/Dept®bring to life authentic ideas that capture audiences’ attention. They work within many different formats and social platforms, leveraging the latest tech. They combine strategic thinking with design, illustration and motion design to deliver innovative work. We are looking for creative thinkers who can help shape creative ideas as well as turn them into realities.
Our studio consists of Creative Planners (concepters), Designers and Motion Designers covering many different skills and specialisms. Everyone has their specific passion, whether it's art direction, illustration, animation, or video editing, which means each designer brings something different to a project.
For this role in particular, we are looking for a skilled Lead Visual Designer to assist on our Anchor Podcasts account which includes social AO and campaign work. Candidates for this position must have experience leading projects to fruition and building client relationships & have an understanding of clear and concise art direction and feedback.
The base compensation for this full-time position will be between $80,000 - $90,000. Salary will commensurate with the person's appropriate work experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is fast paced, varied and constantly evolving.
- Deliver projects alongside Creative Planners and Designers.
- Work with many different formats and platforms to create global campaigns.
- Have a strong illustrative background. Lead Designer must understand form and shape.
- Oversee illustration, design, and motion work; providing constructive detail oriented feedback
- Be involved in creative production - Taking the creative from start to finish with the team.
- Be invested in creative idea development and campaign look and feel
- Be aware of and respond to current design and culture
- Present work internally and externally
- Contribute to our creative process by sharing your ideas and experience
SKILLS AND PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- 4+ years relevant experience
- A portfolio including both graphic design and illustration
- Understanding of graphic design foundations e.g. typography, layout design, grids
- Understanding of form and shape and how illustration and graphic design can work together within a layout
- Knowledge in organizing working files for collaboration and hand off to other designers.
- Understanding of providing articulate feedback to designers and animators.
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Advanced problem solving skills & utilizing your available resources
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and high attention to detail
- Excellent deck design skills
- Experience presenting your work
- Ability to remain focused under pressure within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work within a team as well as with clients
- A love for learning new things and exploring new formats
Nice to have:
- 2D Animation skills
- Shoot experience
- Interest in music, audio and other art mediums.
