MLB is hiring a Web3 Manager, Gaming and New Business Ventures
Compensation: $45k - $75k estimated

MLB is seeking to hire a manager for business development partnership initiatives within the Gaming and New Business Ventures group. This individual will be responsible for helping MLB drive new commercial opportunities in Fantasy, Sports Betting, Blockchain, and other emerging high-growth areas of the sports industry, while also maximizing fan engagement opportunities with MLB’s current portfolio of best-in-class partners.
Key Goals
The eventual candidate hired to the position will be asked to focus on several key goals and will be evaluated based on their success in bringing these aims to fruition:
- Growing MLB Revenues – Maximizing revenue opportunities within the Gaming and New Business Ventures areas of responsibilities, while also driving new revenue opportunities across all MLB business departments.
- Increasing Fan Engagement – Creatively identifying means to leverage Fantasy, Sports Betting, and Blockchain Technologies to grow fan engagement and broaden the MLB fanbase.
- Collaboration in Support of “One Baseball”– Support for all cross-functional relationships with other internal MLB Departments (Marketing, Consumer Products, Technology, Gaming, Sponsorship, Ticketing etc.) to ensure that partner opportunities are fully realized.
- Driving Innovation – Identifying innovative technologies to modernize our business operations, while also providing flexibility to expand MLB’s reach into new and adjacent commercial space.
Primary Responsibilities
Candidates will be asked to fulfill the following primary day-to-day responsibilities:
- Partner Management: Day to day communication with MLB Partners, including off-season planning, in-season activation execution, product and asset approvals, etc.
- New Business Execution: Support for developing new business leads within the Gaming and New Business Venture groups’ areas of responsibilities and executing on new partnerships.
- KPI Tracking and Reporting: Management of department KPI’s and general performance-tracking, using both public and private, internal, and external sources of data.
- Strategic Input: Support for honing and refining MLB’s commercial thesis in emerging business areas and coordinating with MLB’s Central Strategy group to share and communicate those strategies with broader internal stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Assisting supervisors and executives to maintain constant inter-office communication to ensure strong collaboration between teams, and strong execution for cross-functional projects.
Requirements
We seek individuals with the following core attributes and skills:
- Proven experience working with cross-functional groups from ideation through execution.
- Excellent written and business communication skills.
- An objective, data-driven approach to decision-making, with strong skills in business reporting, KPI tracking, and industry analysis.
- Strong relationship-building skills, both with colleagues and clients.
- A collaborative, team-first attitude and approach to office-work.
Required experience includes:
- Undergraduate-level degree.
- At least 2+ years of relevant work-experience. Ideal backgrounds include prior work in management consulting, finance, or corporate strategy / business development roles within the technology or media industries.
- Ideal candidates have a keen interest and understanding of sports betting and/or blockchain technologies.
- Professional experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite of Products (Word, Excel, Power Point).
