Web3 Senior DevOps Engineer

Base Salary: 110,000 - 140,000 USD/year

Total Compensation Potential: 140,000 - 200,000 USD/year (with token grants)

This position is ideal for individuals passionate about privacy-first, decentralized systems who possess the ability to navigate technical complexity and present critical insights to diverse audiences, and offers ample opportunities to learn both from industry leaders in the field of private blockchains in addition to explicit knowledge on the function of the Penumbra blockchain.

The Role

In a DevOps role at Radiant Commons, we’ll ask that you are capable of running infrastructure for us in addition to being a capable and excited technical problem-solver for a small team devoted to the growth of the Penumbra ecosystem.

What you’ll do:

 Web Infrastructure Management

In this role, you can expect to:

• Own and oversee the reliability, performance, and security of Radiant Commons' infrastructure and production applications and their deployment (such as the company website and hosted front-ends) ensuring they are performant and reliable
• Set up and maintain backend services services that support application deployment
• Maintain and monitor blockchain infrastructure services such as full nodes, indexers, and their associated services (including but not limited to monitoring of these services and the services of others)
• Actively participate in discussions on network governance, /consensus, and validator performance within the Penumbra ecosystem.
• Coordinate between organizations and work with external partners and stakeholders

Who you are:

The ideal team member we are looking for is someone who can manage the above services, but also demonstrates that they:

• Have a familiarity with blockchains systems and their architecture
• Has some familiarity with Rust and Rust-based development tools
• Is excited about Privacy-first technologies and/or distributed systems
• Understands the changing needs of a startup environment and with this the evolving needs of the role

Compensation:

Salary and Token Grant

The base salary for this role ranges from 110,000 to 140,000 USD per year, reflecting the technical expertise and operational responsibilities required.

In addition to the base salary, this role includes a token grant from projects incubated and supported by Radiant Commons, including Penumbra, with a Grant Value equivalent to 20,000 to 60,000 annually, vesting over 2 years.
