Web3 Trainee System Analyst (Remote)

SORAMITSU is the developer of and major contributor to the open-source blockchain platform Hyperledger Iroha, which is tailored for enterprise and public-sector use. Hyperledger Iroha, a project of Hyperledger Foundation, part of the Linux Foundation, has a permissions system that is scalable and performant.

Utilizing blockchain, SORAMITSU has developed a digital currency for the National Bank of Cambodia, a CBDC Proof-of-Concept with the Bank of the Lao PDR, a closed-loop payment system for the University of Aizu in Japan, an identity verification system prototype for Bank Central Asia in Indonesia, we were finalists in the Monetary Authority of Singapore CBDC Challenge, and are currently participating in Asia-Pacific's first proof-of-concept test of a cross-border, multi-currency security settlement system using distributed ledger technology with the Asian Development Bank. We have also conducted proof-of-concept tests for several major Japanese enterprises, and are active contributors to open source projects, such as Klaytn, South Korea's leading Layer-1 blockchain, KAGOME, the C++ Polkadot Host implementation, the SORA crypto-economic system, the Polkaswap DEX, and the DeFi wallet, Fearless Wallet

Join our dynamic team as a System Analyst Trainee and embark on a transformative experience. As a part of our team, you'll be at the forefront of crafting revolutionary financial services leveraging the power of blockchain technology. Your role will involve sculpting user interfaces that connect with individuals across the globe, bringing financial innovation to life.

The internship program is thoughtfully curated to equip you with the following proficiencies:

• You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the various stages of the Software Development Life Cycle, including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• You will get hands-on experience with Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN). Additionally, you will learn to create UML diagrams, including sequence diagrams, to visually represent system interactions and workflows.
• Familiarity with different types of requirements, including gathering and documenting requirements such as User Stories and Use Cases
• You will gain valuable insights into the Fintech and Blockchain industry, understanding how financial technologies are revolutionizing traditional banking and finance.
• You will delve into the principles of blockchain technology and its applications, including cryptocurrencies and decentralized finance (DeFi). You will also explore Web3 technologies, which aim to create a decentralized and user-centric internet.
• You will gain firsthand experience working in a diverse and multicultural team, understanding the dynamics and challenges of international collaboration. This will enhance your cultural awareness, communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a global business environment.

You need to have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or current enrollment in professional courses.
• A strong interest in analytics, business, and systems analysis.
• Experience working in a Scrum team as an analyst (possibly on student or volunteer projects) is a plus.
• Familiarity with software development processes.
• Knowledge of BPMN and UML (sequence diagrams) is advantageous.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence is a plus.

Required soft skills:

• Self-motivated and willing to invest time in self-study.
• Ability to read technical papers and understand technical conferences in English.
• Completed a analytics course or have equivalent knowledge.
• Open to receiving and responding to constructive criticism.
