Description of the Role

Figment is taking bold steps to push the future of Web3 technology by joining Open Source projects as core contributors. This dedication to the advancement of bleeding edge tech drives our need to bring talented, engaged engineers onto the team.

Members of the Protocol Development team work shoulder-to-shoulder with core contributors from other organizations, the global open source community and non-profit foundations. Software Engineers deliver solutions for a diverse range of stakeholders, including internal teams. The work covers topics as diverse as direct contributions to blockchain nodes to designing data oracles to dApps like NFT marketplaces. The code you write will form the foundations of not only Figment’s products but the technical foundations of tomorrow’s internet.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Design and develop code directly related to blockchain protocols, L1+
  2. Work with internal and external contributors to define and develop solutions to challenges faced by protocols as adoption accelerates
  3. Develop a deep expertise in dApp, Smart Contract and core development on a variety of blockchain protocols
  4. Act as a subject matter expert to internal and external stakeholders
  5. Provide peer review and participate in the creation of pull requests, specifications, proposals

Key Qualifications

  1. Prior professional experience in an engineering, software development or other technical role
  2. Prior experience working as an individual contributor working as part of a larger team or initiative
  3. Prior experience designing, coding and deploying software based solutions in a cloud-computing environment

Desired Attributes

  1. Prior experience with or deeply interested in blockchain technology in a development context
  2. Prior experience with or deeply interested in developing with languages and technologies such as Rust, Golang, WASM, TypeScript, AssemblyScript etc
  3. Prior experience with or deeply interested contributing to Open Source projects
