We are one of the largest bitcoin miners in the United States. We are headquartered in Las Vegas, NV, and independently own and operate five data centers in Georgia for a total developed capacity of 230 MW. We are developing an additional 150 MW at our data center in Sandersville, GA. We have a partner in Massena, NY, that hosts 50 MW for us. We are seeking a Director of Community Development to join our leadership team at CleanSpark. This pivotal role is responsible for managing and enhancing our company's relationships with key external stakeholders in Georgia and the southern United States, including community groups, economic development authorities, local government officials, industry associations, and business partners to support our strategic objectives and growth. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing and maintaining relationships across a broad array of stakeholders, coupled with a deep understanding of bitcoin, bitcoin mining, and its contributions to local communities.

Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive external affairs strategy that aligns with the company's business goals, emphasizing community engagement, economic development, and policy influence.
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local communities, government entities, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and business partners.
    • Collaborate with senior leaders and external policy partners to support advocacy efforts and policy development activities that promote favorable regulatory environments for bitcoin mining and blockchain technology.
    • Represent the company at public events, conferences, and forums to enhance its visibility and leadership in the communities in which we operate.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, including public relations, business development, and operations, to ensure a unified approach to external communications and stakeholder engagement.
    • Oversee the development and implementation of community investment programs and partnerships that align with the company's corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals.
    • Monitor and analyze policy developments and industry trends to inform strategic planning and risk management.
    • Additional duties as required

Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Communications, Political Science, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 7-10 years experience in general business operations, customer relations, data center industry, blockchain industry, or energy sectors. Experience in the blockchain industry is highly desirable.
    • Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop and implement comprehensive external affairs strategies.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships and working collaboratively both within and across organizations.
    • Deep understanding of local communities, regulatory and policy landscapes affecting the bitcoin and blockchain industries.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and navigate complex regulatory and business challenges.
