At Diaspora Games we’re a building a blockchain platform for video games while working on our first game, a Sci-fi Shooter A-RPG, inspired by Mass Effect, Avatar The Last Airbender, and Halo.


Blockchain Software Engineer


We are actively seeking a Blockchain Software Engineer with a robust background in Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain development and Protocol Engineering. In this role, you will have the opportunity to spearhead the development and maintenance of smart contracts, blockchain architecture, and system design with a strong focus on Layer 2 solutions to enhance scalability and efficiency. Collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and engineers, you will play a vital role in creating and implementing scalable and innovative blockchain solutions for our game and platform.


Responsibilities


  • Layer 2, Layer 3 and Ethereum Smart Contract Development: Lead the design, development, and deployment of secure and efficient smart contracts on Ethereum Layer 2 blockchains. Implement industry best practices for code quality, security, and optimization.
  • Blockchain Architecture and System Design: Collaborate with the product team to define and develop the technical architecture for blockchain solutions, ensuring seamless integration with Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies.
  • Testing, Auditing, and Optimization: Conduct extensive testing, debugging, and auditing of smart contracts to ensure optimal functionality and security. Focus on optimizing contracts for Ethereum Layer 2 environments, addressing scalability and performance challenges.
  • Technical Leadership and Collaboration: Provide technical expertise and guidance in Ethereum Layer 2 or Layer 3 technologies, leading cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create in-depth technical documentation and foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the team.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with at least 5 years of professional experience in Smart Contract Engineering, including a focus on Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain technologies and Protocols.
  • Strong understanding of blockchain technologies, distributed ledger, and smart contracts.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Solidity, Daml , JavaScript, Rust, NodeJS, Go, or Python.
  • Proven Experience with blockchain platforms like Ethereum, Hyperledger, or similar.
  • Knowledge of cryptography and blockchain protocols.
  • Familiarity with P2P networks and consensus algorithms.
  • Experience with AWS or Azure cloud services and Kubernetes, Docker, NIX

Preferred Skills


  • Previous work on significant blockchain projects or contributions to open-source blockchain initiatives.
  • Knowledge of financial services, payments, or cryptocurrency industries.
