Job Description Summary:Individual Contributor supporting key security solutions across the In-Store business unit. The ideal candidate will possess a passionate interest and some experience in cryptography, using asymmetric and symmetric principles in both software, and on HSM’s (hardware security modules). Must be willing to learn and apply the fundamentals of online and offline payments. Programming skills is a must, and experience in C++ and Java is preferable. Apart from being highly technical, the job will entail frequent interactions with various product teams for whom solutions will be crafted. Thus, good oral and written communications skills is vital. Must have working experience with Unix, communication protocols such as TCPIP, relational DBMS, etc. Job Description: What you need to know about the role- As a Security Solutions Engineer you will support key security solutions across the Crypto business unit.  Possess a passionate interest and some experience in cryptography, using asymmetric and symmetric principles in both software, and on HSM’s (hardware security modules). Your way to impact- Responsible for developing and integrating cryptographic algorithms to support various applications across PayPal. You will specialize in building highly available, scalable and durable software products, tools and services to support PayPal global growth.

Your day-to-day-

Design and develop highly scalable and available applications for mission-critical systems Be a strategic thinker and problem solver Collaborate with product management to design or simplify APIs Lead the creation of innovative Full Stack components and solutions Design and develop highly scalable and available applications for mission-critical systems Lead the design, architecture and implementation of secret management systems with Hashicorp Vault at the core Familiar with, and able to code and test integrations with various payments HSMs’ (hardware security modules), such as Thales 10K  Assist in the completion of various PCI certification activities, using Host/Connectivity and Remote Key Loading for card readers connecting to HSM-based backend and PCI mandate 18-3 regarding use of Key Blocks Support In-store Payment Cryptography for Web transactions supported by Google Pay and Apple Pay Familiar with, and able to use the latest and most secure encryption algorithms related to DUKPT (derived unique key per transaction) Lead the development and execution of various security software projects, that may include coding languages such as Java, JavaScript and Golang.

What do you need to bring-

5+ years of experience in Crypto engineering Software Development experience using coding languages such as Java, JavaScript and Golang Experience with building scripts using scripting languages using Python, Bash and JavaScript Experience with custom and off the shelf security products Experience with cloud services Experience with security testing and automation methodologies Knowledge and experience with the POS (point-of-sale) security domain
