Protofire is a dedicated sub-unit of Altoros, specialized in consultancy and development services around Blockchain technology.

As great enthusiasts and active contributors to the open-source blockchain communities we help builders and providers of decentralized infrastructure, protocols and applications, to bootstrap the demand and supply sides of their markets, and accelerate mass adoption.

We help startups with protocol & smart contract engineering, high-performance trusted data feeds (oracles), and awesome developer tools (SDKs/APIs).

Since we started in 2016 we’ve had a chance to contribute to the development of many top projects in the blockchain ecosystem, including Maker, Chainlink, Tezos, Gnosis, Kyber Network, The Graph, Filecoin, Synthetix, Avalanche and more. Apart from that we are running one of the biggest indexer nodes in the Graph Network, participating as bridge relayers and validators helping projects and networks to further decentralise their infrastructure.

We are now looking to hire a cross-disciplinary team to help Protofire scale. As such, we’re looking for a Backend Javascript Developer who wants to learn and dive deeper in blockchain projects and products. Our technical stack is based on cutting-edge technologies: React, Node.JS, Typescript, Solidity, truffle, Web3, ether.js

As part of our engineering teams you’ll be empowered to actively participate in the community in open source projects and work exclusively with entrepreneurs who are builders of decentralized infrastructure protocols, applications and ecosystems. You will join a world class technical team, with strong expertise in developing & delivering advanced decentralized applications (dApps), smart contracts and developers tools (SDKs, APIs, Sample apps).


How you will make an impact
  • Build back-end and front-end web services that interact with the Ethereum blockchain.
  • Review code written by other team members.
  • Design and implement open source tools, like Solhint and eth-cli, to contribute and support the Ethereum community.
  • Provide value to our clients business by building new cool features.
  • Provide strategic technical solutions delivery, matching business requirements and project deliverables
  • Ensure that security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability are being considered when architecting solutions
  • Provide structure to development activities following SCRUM Methodology.
  • Attend hackathons, conferences and deliver talks related to our technologies and helping the HR team to attract new talent by telling your own experience about working in Altoros/Protofire.

What you need to succeed

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • Mastery on the following stacks:
    • 3+ years of recent development experience with Node.js/Typescript
    • Postgress, MongoDB, SQL, nonSQL
  • Experience with Ethers.js and GraphQL.
  • Has deployed a subgraph before or understands what a subgraph is.
  • Experience with Next, auth0, Ant.design, bootstrap, >
  • Knowledge about how a blockchain works, preferably Ethereum.
  • A desire to keep up with blockchain technology trends and a real interest in decentralization
