BitMEX is hiring a Web3 Custody Business Manager
Compensation: $45k - $80k estimated
Location: Singapore, Central, Singapore
Role Overview
This role will be responsible for executing the deliverables set out by the Executive committee for the Custody platform. This includes but not limited to, the establishment of a related custodian in a jurisdiction of commercial credibility, the creation of a product that is able to cater to both retail and institutional clients, and ensuring the product is of a standard that can be fully insured. You will be reporting to the Head of Custody and a critical part in the success of the business.
Responsibilities
- Product Management & Development:
- Drive the execution of the Custody product strategy, including P&L projections, new product assessment, lending/staking capabilities and easy integration into the broader product suite.
- Develop and own robust business cases, opportunity sizing, competitive analysis and execution plans for each initiative and the presentation of these to senior management for buy-in, funding and resourcing.
- Act as the escalation point for product related questions and ensure suitable resolution and management of issues.
- Help ensure tactical and strategic product development objectives are captured throughout the planning process. Drive and monitor the related product deliveries to completion with partners across the business
- Understand proposed standard pricing based on risk/reward trade-off and commercial framework for liability
- Licencing and Certification
- Work closely with regulated bodies in selected jurisdictions to ensure the product is fully regulated and licensed as an independent custodian
- Provide our clients a product that is able to offer insurance by working with underwriters to justify the security of the product is at a standard capable of getting insurance
- Become SOC-Type I & II compliant
- Client Solutions
- Maintenance of Product standard documentation and provide sales support to Sales teams where required
- Manage workshop / meetings with new or existing clients to understand their needs, define and solution non standard operating models. Have the gravitas to push back on non standard requests where they don't make commercial or risk reward sense
- Work in partnership with Product Development, Technology and Operations to design and develop operating models for new or existing Institutional clients
- Oversight of product delivery (including business requirements and testing) to ensure operating models are implemented
Qualifications
- The successful candidate will have worked in a securities, investment management and / or global custody environment for a minimum of 10 years in an Operations, Client Service, Market Segment or Product Management role
- Good overall knowledge of Custody & Fund Services Products (preferably within a Global Custody or background)
- Experience in a product management or business management function working at a strategic planning level including conducting new business approvals for new products / alterations to the service
- Client facing experience and be able to exhibit confidence and professionalism in dealing with internal and external parties
- Strong analytical skills in terms of process and operating model re-engineering and understanding clients Global Custody needs
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and documentary (e.g. PowerPoint) in order to syndicate messages with sales/relationship management and senior product/risk managers
- Ability to research the anticipated needs of clients; through a combination of "own" research as well as coordination across a number of key partners
- Desire to understand the competitive landscape; understanding the features and functions of competitor offerings and, where possible, pricing information
- A strong understanding of the risk profile of each initiative and ensuring that it is compliant with group guidelines
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese would be a plus
