Web3 Product Designer

We're looking for a talented product designer who is excited about our vision and mission of providing new and existing users of the NEAR ecosystem with the essential tools they need to secure and manage their assets and to take full advantage of all the space has to offer, from DeFi to NFTs. We're especially excited about generalist designers with a strong focus on their craft, UX research, quick iteration and who are keen to influence product strategy.

What You'll Get to Work On

Product Design and Product Management

• Contribute to overall strategy and decision-making about product direction.
• Help deliver and refine clear storytelling around product needs and opportunities.
• Create, collaborate, and iterate on flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity interface and interaction design.
• Design and ship high quality product improvements to existing products as well as new features.
• Help to establish, document, and implement a new design system, setting us up to scale our team and product.
• Work on features with ownership end-to-end, from the research phase all the way through to implementation.
• Identify problems, define goals and opportunities, test hypotheses and prototype solutions, perform user research, and collaborate closely with engineers
• Facilitate design reviews and usability testing to gather feedback on your directions and proposed solutions.

UX Research

• Coordinate and perform user research, to make sure we're always talking to our users and listening to their feedback.
• Perform regular competitive analysis to learn about how other products are approaching similar problems in order to determine how we might approach these problems ourselves.
• Synthesize and incorporate feedback from research into product and design. Turn user feedback into actionable change.
• Gather feedback internally, from the NEAR ecosystem and community, and iterate based on the needs we identify.

About You

• You prefer the early high growth stages of a startup, before systems have been established.
• You are high velocity designer, with a bias towards action. You are always exploring different options, and getting feedback from users and your team. You are curious and experiment-driven, rather than tied to the first solution you come up with.
• You are highly organized (follow through, collecting feedback, and acting on it) and methodical. You are skilled at synthesizing inputs from founders, users, and peers, and continuing to move the product forward.
• You know which topics are important to debate and focus on.
• You are passionate about our mission and the opportunity to empower our users and our community.
• You enjoy being a generalist and are ready to learn and build with the right tools for each problem. You focus on the problem, rather than on the tool.
• You have a founder mentality. You have a bias towards action, especially when faced with open-ended problems. You are highly autonomous, but thrive with collaboration with a team.
• You are a life-long learner. You are humble, energized by feedback, and are constantly looking to improve.

The NEAR Foundation is a nonprofit, non-beneficiary foundation based in Switzerland which supports community-driven innovation and the Open Web with a specific focus on the NEAR platform. The Foundation distributes grant funding into the NEAR ecosystem, coordinates governance among participants, educates people about the protocol and ensures that relationships among the community members are as strong and sustainable as the apps they build. It seeks to combine the inclusive care of a community-driven NGO with the at-scale effectiveness of a Silicon Valley startup.
