Web3 Program Manager, University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI)

Compensation: $45k - $105k *

Ripple Impact is helping to develop a more scalable, sustainable, ethical and inclusive global blockchain ecosystem by supporting education, research and technical innovation in blockchain and fintech through its flagship university partnerships program, the University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI). UBRI now includes more than 40 universities from nearly 20 countries worldwide.

Ripple is deepening its commitment to university partnerships and we’re growing Ripple’s UBRI team. As Ripple UBRI’s Program Manager, you will play a vital role in building Ripple’s relationships and programs with university partners. You will help ensure Ripple employees are fully engaged in participating in collaboration with faculty and students.

This person can be located in either San Francisco, CA or New York, New York.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Work with Ripple’s Director of University Partnerships to ensure the University Blockchain Research Network (UBRI) continues to be a global leader in blockchain and crypto research and innovation
  • Work across Ripple’s teams to identify and pursue opportunities to leverage Ripple’s core products and network to advance Decentralized Finance, financial inclusion, CBDCs, NFTs, XRPL utility and sustainability globally
  • Work with the Recruiting and Events Marketing teams to ensure Ripple is an employer of choice for outstanding students pursuing careers in fintech by organizing career panels, hackathons and speaking engagements on campuses to attract talent to open roles
  • Work with the Director of University Partnerships to grow and develop Ripple’s university partnerships program, the University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI)
  • Help organize and coordinate requests for research collaboration from university partners and help organize and execute UBRI’s annual conference and other, smaller events, as needed
  • Help manage Ripple’s primary partnerships and collaborations with Universities to drive special initiatives, industry based projects, competitions and knowledge sharing events
  • Work with internal teams and external research partners to measure the efficacy of UBRI initiatives and to share learnings and best practices with key stakeholder audiences
  • Work with both university partners and internal partners (eg, HR, People, Recruiting, D&I) to identify and attract diverse candidates for internships and open positions at Ripple

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 3+ years experience working as a corporate manager in social impact / CSR, product management or comparable role, preferably in the tech sector
  • Experience managing collaborative programs with an exceptional ability to identify, capture and synthesize data
  • Familiarity with or experience in blockchain and cryptocurrency a plus
  • Additional subject matter expertise in one or more of the following thematic areas:
    • Corporate-university partnerships / higher education
    • Diversity and inclusion, especially in the tech sector
    • Virtual and live event curation and delivery

  • Experience working with engineers and technical product managers
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Proven and highly effective collaborator
  • Significant experience managing external partnerships
