Seedify is seeking a Senior PCG Designer to spearhead the development of building and creation mechanics in a high-profile, AAA 3rd person simulation game. In this role, you will be pivotal in crafting and refining the in-game creation system vital to constructing a magical and immersive world. Collaborating closely with the Gameplay Director and an interdisciplinary team of game development experts, you will innovate and enhance player interactions related to world creation to ensure a captivating creation experience. This position is a unique opportunity to put your mark on intuitive and engaging building systems and to mentor a dynamic team of designers.
Key Responsibilities:
•Design, develop, and refine in-game PCG creation mechanics to integrate seamlessly with the game’s overall strategic vision.
•Analyze and optimize key features of the build gameplay, integrating 3rd person character movement into a gesture-like creation system leveraging the Unreal PCG systems.
•Create rewarding and intuitive creation dynamics that captivate and engage players at all skill levels.
•Lead the harmonization of build systems with other gameplay mechanics to boost overall gameplay quality and engagement.
•Conduct design reviews and testing sessions for the build mechanics, utilizing both player feedback and team insights to enhance the world-creation experience.
•Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations, particularly in simulation and creative gameplay genres, applying cutting-edge practices and techniques.
•Collaborate with engineers and animators to ensure technical feasibility and to implement detailed and coherent building processes.
•Generate comprehensive documentation to chronicle design choices and ensure consistent communication across the development team.
•Oversee the recruitment and hiring process for creator gameplay roles, aiming to attract top-tier talent to the team.
•Manage production schedules, resource distribution, and task planning to meet development deadlines efficiently.
Qualifications:
•Proven track record as a Senior or Lead Designer, with specific expertise in gameplay systems focused on Unreal PCG build mechanics within AAA titles.
•Strong understanding of design principles related to world-building and creative gameplay, with experience in balancing intricate game dynamics to produce engaging player experiences.
•Hands-on proficiency with design tools and scripting languages, such as C++, Python, or visual scripting (e.g., Unreal Blueprints).
•Skilled in using Unreal Engine or comparable advanced game development environments.
•Demonstrated capability in leadership with the ability to mentor and direct a design team effectively.
•Excellent communication skills, with the ability to express complex ideas clearly and work collaboratively across various teams.
•Robust problem-solving abilities and the capacity to navigate a fast-paced and evolving development landscape.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Extensive and profound experience with Unreal Engine is highly desirable.
