Opyn is a product and open protocol on Ethereum that allows users to buy, sell, and create options on any ERC20. DeFi enthusiasts and projects alike rely on Opyn’s smart contracts and interface to hedge themselves against DeFi risks and take positions on different cryptocurrencies.

Opyn is pioneering on-chain hedging and derivatives markets, protecting collateralized assets in smart contracts, and securing DeFi platforms like money markets to neo-banks. Senior Smart Contract Security Engineer

We are looking for someone who loves DeFi/crypto, engineering, security, and challenges and is interested in being a foundational member of our team at the very early stage. You’ll be focused on architecting and building secure financial systems, with a focus on testing / formal verification/ auditing. You will be involved in laying down secure development processes, teaching and mentoring others on the team about engineering fundamentals and security and ensuring security of big engineering projects. As an early member, you’ll have a large stake in shaping the protocol and company, helping direct strategy and product execution, in hiring and scaling the team, and in shaping the greater DeFi ecosystem.

You will

• Architect and build complex and secure financial systems.
• Improve the security of our smart contracts through audits, testing, formal verification, q/a etc.
• Set and maintain good security and engineering processes
• Teach and mentor others on the team about security
• Ensure the safety of users through rigorous security throughout the development stack
• Contribute to the open source DeFi community
• Understand and look into lots of new DeFi products
• Help us hire further people

We are looking for someone who

• Has strong software security fundamentals
  • Has previously been involved in securing smart contracts / complex systems (any financial systems / nuclear systems/ space tech/ healthcare systems, any sort of complex system in C / c++ / go / assembly/ rust where bugs are critical)
  • Has experience with Solidity/EVM
  • Is excited about testing / formal verification / auditing
  • Is willing to learn and keep up with security developments
• Has deep knowledge and passion about crypto applications / Ethereum
  • Preferably DeFi
• Has a growth mindset
• Is willing to do anything it takes to solve problems and delight users
• Is a self-starter who works well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment driving tangible results
• Is excited to keep up with latest technical advancements in Ethereum development and can quickly learn how to work with services and tools even without previous experience
• Upholds best practices in engineering, security, and design
• Contributes a unique set of experiences and perspectives to solving problems
