About the Role

Figure is excited to be growing our businesses and creating new teams. We are looking for curious, innovative, and collaborative team members. Engineering is at the heart of the action, building out our blockchain protocol and direct-to-consumer products that will transform the financial services industry. Everything is from scratch development and every engineer has a big impact on the team and the growth of the company.

As Figure scales, it is imperative that we level up our expertise in anti-fraud technology and detection. In this role as an anti-fraud engineering expert, you will collaborate with engineering and risk leadership to build technology and establish processes that stop fraudsters in their tracks.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide thought leadership in the design of methods and anti-fraud technologies to bring data-driven insight to internal engineering and fraud analytics teams
  • Research, design, implement and integrate technologies that analyze and identify fraudulent activities and transactions to ensure proper mitigation efforts
  • Support fraud analytics data standards and offer recommendations for the tactical and strategic mission for Fraud Intelligence
  • Research, build, integrate, monitor, and improve the accuracy of third-party fraud solutions based on defined models and analytics
  • Design, implement and maintain backend microservice, internal tools, and customer-facing fraud prevention tools
  • Be empowered to drive innovation for our Fraud & Abuse systems.
  • Be a leader, use your voice, and apply your tech skills to solve real-world problems
  • Collaborate with a diverse group of people, across Engineering, Data Science, Product, and Leadership, executing on big opportunities and driving Figure to the top of the FinTech industry

What We Look For

  • Team player with a positive attitude that gets it done
  • 5+ years engineering/development experience in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • 2+ years of experience in enterprise fraud prevention or risk management engineering Experience working with BI tools such as Tableau and PowerBI preferred (but not required)
  • Experience working with Information Technology/Information Security personnel and understanding how software/hardware solutions can be applied to mitigate fraud
  • Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to execute work with minimal supervision
  • A track record in conceptualizing and building end-to-end big data frameworks
  • Ability to drive a project from concept to release
  • Familiarity with Iterative Software Development “If it’s not in production we aren’t iterating.”
