Web3 Social Media Lead

Social Media Lead (Contract)

As an early contributor to SELF you will have the unique opportunity to build and shape our social media presence from the ground up; establishing our brand voice, exploring social channels, engaging in social conversation and building strategy for launch and beyond.

As the steward of our public channels, you will play a key role in bringing our brand to life. We're looking for an instinctive storyteller who isn’t afraid to experiment. As a fluid communicator, you know how to make a brand stand out across multiple channels, audiences, and communities.

This is a contract position reporting to the head of product marketing that can be held anywhere in the world, with the opportunity to transition into a full time role after six (6) months.

What you’ll do at SELF ID:

• You are a self-starter, but also know that successful execution requires managing projects cross-functionally, taking in and prioritizing requests from across the organization, and communicating with all stakeholders. You will grow our audience across social channels and spotlight SELF’s thought leaders in creative ways.
• You understand the importance of creating a content ecosystem. You will set the vision for our social platforms. Leveraging both data and intuition, you'll determine the best ways to educate our audience, deepen their engagement, project our brand identity, and trumpet our news.
• You are risk tolerant and love to experiment. The faster we can figure out what works, the sooner we can reach more people in compelling ways. You'll identify social media metrics that map to our goals, determine what type of content we should invest in, and iterate as you go.
• You know the audience reach of our current channels, stay on top of emergent channels, and look for opportunities to expand. You'll monitor conversations taking place across our existing channels and help us branch into new ones where we can seed and grow an audience.
• You'll be reviewing SELF’s most important short-form copy and writing some of it yourself. You'll be the steward of our profiles and owner of our social voice and tone, making sure both evolve as quickly as we do.
• You are a scrappy creator and producer who will look for unique ways to express the product and brand visually by creating assets yourself, and working with our creative team to bring ideas to life.

What Excites Us:

• 5-7 years of social media and community management experience with a proven track record in scaling brand accounts.
• You understand both B2B and B2C marketing and excel at storytelling in both. The SELF ecosystem is bifurcated, with individual users and partner organizations playing equally important roles.
• You are an expert collaborator who is able to interface with every team and person within the org. You know how to build processes and relationships to execute quickly and deliver top-tier work.
• You are well versed in current social trends, web3, crypto, social channels, platforms and tools.
• You appreciate and can communicate the foundational principles of self-sovereignty, individual liberty and the importance of user privacy online.
• You are able to identify and execute on key social metrics that align with our overall company goals.

Compensation (hourly rate): $45-75 per hour
