We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team on a one-year fixed-term contract, covering a maternity leave. Based in London this position offers the chance to collaborate closely with the Head of Finance. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial guidance to the management team.

• Oversee all areas of financial accounting of control, including financial accounting, treasury, systems, and finance transactions
• Lead the preparation and submission of management accounts, payroll processing and VAT returns
• Ensuring accurate and current financial ledgers
• Coordinate procurement activities
• Coordinate and manage external audit processes, ensuring timely and accuratecompletion
• Prepare audit schedules, provide necessary documentation, and address auditorqueries
• Provide the management committee and EXCO with financial reporting vital to thedecision-making process
• Oversee regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
• Evaluate accounting and internal control systems and governance
• Ensure compliance with applicable rules, laws, and regulations
• Fulfil additional ad hoc duties are required to meet the needs of the business

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Qualified with 3-4 years post qualification experience

• Able to present financial information clearly and concisely with great insight
• A strong understanding of financial accounting, VAT, and the preparation of financial reports
• Held a similar position with ability to report to EXCO if required
• An ability to and proactively solve problems
• Ability to meet strict reporting deadlines & proactively manage workload
• Demonstration of honesty, integrity and good reputation
• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills and ability to interpret and summarise/present varied data
• Advanced excel skills
