At R3 we are on a mission to build the platform that will revolutionize regulated financial industries, enabling our customers to build and operate ground-breaking distributed multi-party enterprise applications. As such, you will be at the cutting edge of distributed ledger technology (DLT).

Corda is a DLT designed for running complex workflows between businesses without any centralised control points. We are working to deliver a platform for businesses to create Corda deployments and application networks without the need to run their own Corda instances.

Your Team:
You will join an existing engineering team whose remit is to build, operate and deliver Corda as a Service. The goal of the Corda Cloud service is to remove friction from the customer journey. R3 will provide a set of services that will allow users to run Corda application networks and CorDapps (distributed applications) without the need to manage the underlying Corda.

As part of the Corda Cloud delivery team, you will:

    • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable web APIs that meet the needs of our applications and external integrations.
    • Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to understand and translate requirements into technical specifications.
    • Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, while implementing best practices to ensure high-quality and maintainable code
    • Conduct thorough testing (unit, integration, and system level), to identify and fix bugs and improve/optimise API performance by identifying bottlenecks and implementing necessary improvements.
    • Ensure API security and data protection by following industry best practices and implementing appropriate security measures.
    • Support other members of the team through mentoring, pairing, and code review.

    • No team is an island – you will work with many others across the company, to help ensure we build the best possible products. You will have the opportunity to showcase your work and help influence your colleagues' thinking.

About you:

    • You are a highly motivated, self-sufficient software engineer. You have a strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, either through formal study or via some other route. You are curious, quick to learn about new technologies, and keen to build on your skills by learning on the job. You should be proficient in at least one programming language and web application framework, and have a willingness to learn others. You are comfortable working collaboratively as part of an agile team, delivering from a backlog, and providing guidance to colleagues.

    • Ideally, you would have experience/knowledge of:

    • designing and building secure REST/HTTP APIs
    • writing production code in Go using the Echo framework
    • continuous delivery of a cloud-hosted service
    • deploying and running apps on Kubernetes
    • designing effective UX
    • 6+ years of commercial experience (although passion, capability and potential are more important).
