DFINITY Foundation is seeking a highly creative and experienced UX/IxD lead to lead design thinking across Dfinity’s product portfolio. The ideal candidate will focus on improving the user experience in the growing number of dapps that Dfinity is building and maintaining, such as our management dapps, crypto wallets and identity products.This role involves collaboration with our R&D and Product team to not only develop and refine the product experience but to also integrate UX research and user testing into our development methodology.

Background and Skills

• Proven track record of leading design projects from concept to launch, particularly in crypto or Web3
• environments
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, design thinking, and agile methodologies
• Expertise in user research, persona development, journey mapping, and usability testing
• Proficiency in industry-standard design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
• Experience with design systems and component libraries
• Familiarity with blockchain technology, cryptocurrency wallets, and digital identity concepts
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience in product management or product strategy is a significant plus

Responsibilities

• Lead the UX/UI design process for our crypto and identity product portfolio, ensuring a cohesive and intuitive user experience across all touchpoints
• Collaborate closely with product managers, UI designers, and engineering teams to define product vision, strategy, and roadmap
• Conduct and oversee user research, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testing to inform design decisions
• Develop and maintain user personas, journey maps, and other UX artifacts to guide product development
• Create high-fidelity prototypes and mockups to effectively communicate design concepts
• Establish and enforce UX/UI design standards, guidelines, and best practices across the teams
• Mentor and educate the foundation in the importance of design thinking
• Contribute to product management activities, including feature prioritization, sprint planning, and backlog grooming
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX/UI design, particularly in the blockchain and digital identity spaces
• Collaborate with marketing and branding teams to ensure consistency in user experience across all customer touchpoints
• Analyze user metrics and feedback to continuously improve the product experience
• Present design concepts and rationales to senior leadership and key stakeholders
• Advocate for user needs and ensure that user-centered design principles are integrated into all aspects of product development

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in UX and IxD with a focus on digital products, principally in the areas of fintech, blockchain and identity management.
• Proven track record of leading design projects from concept to launch, particularly in crypto or Web3 environments
• Understanding the fundamentals of web technology for Website development, such as HTML/CSS (no coding skills needed)
• Must include a portfolio, website, or other relevant links to your work in your application, providing viewable links and/or access instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 1-2 years of experience in a UX Lead role.
• Experience in leading design projects in a collaborative team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to perform in a multi-disciplinary team setting, exhibiting excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Lead/participate in workshops to improve workflows and experience of websites
