We are looking for a talented Data Analyst to join our Anti-Fraud team and work from our office in London. The team is part of a larger Brokerage team, informing all anti-fraud & payments related decisions. You will play a critical role in detecting, investigating, and preventing fraudulent activities within our crypto platform. You will utilize your expertise in data analysis, pattern recognition, and risk assessment to safeguard our ecosystem and maintain the highest standards of security and compliance. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the cutting-edge landscape of cryptocurrency while tackling complex challenges in fraud detection and mitigation.

As a Fraud Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in major fraud related decisions. You will collaborate closely with product managers, backend, and front-end engineers. We are looking for someone passionate about the dynamics of fraud and understands their impact in solving real-life problems. Being proactive in identifying issues, digging deep into their source, and developing solutions, are at the heart of this role.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Analyse large volumes of transactional and user data to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies indicative of fraudulent behaviour. Use this analysis to suggest possible countermeasures to emerging fraudulent typologies.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to fraud prevention efforts, providing regular reports and insights to stakeholders.
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring and evaluation of risk factors, adjusting models and strategies as necessary to adapt to evolving threats and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product Management, and Compliance to integrate risk mitigation strategies into our platform's infrastructure and processes.
  • Communicate findings and insights to key stakeholders through clear and concise reports, presentations, and dashboards.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in risk management and fraud detection within the cryptocurrency industry.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on fraud-related matters, providing guidance, training, and support to internal teams as needed.
  • Deep dive in how Fraud and Money Laundering works, how different payment methods works and how they are exploited by fraudsters.
  • Your work will have a direct impact on revenues, profitability and UX.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Min of 3 years of experience in data analysis
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in STEM field
  • Strong proficiency in data mining, statistical analysis, with hands-on experience using tools such as Python, Bigquery and SQL.
  • Solid understanding of statistical methods, hypothesis testing, and experimental design, with the ability to apply these concepts to real-world problems.
  • Familiarity with blockchain technology, cryptocurrency protocols, and the unique challenges associated with fraud and risk in the crypto space is a plus
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, self-structured, and dynamic environment with tight deadlines and evolving priorities.
  • Knowledge of anti-fraud and Fiat payment methods is a plus.
  • Proficiency in machine learning techniques is a strong plus
