Web3 Head of Institutional Sales, North America

About the Team:

The Okcoin sales team drives volume and revenue growth. We focus on institutional customers and HNW individuals globally. We cover a full range of crypto institutional customer segments, such as trading firms, market makers, financial intermediaries, payment providers, buy-side managers, retail brokers, etc. We work with liquidity, distribution, custody partners to build a mutually beneficial crypto ecosystem.

Okcoin sales teams are strategically located in North America, Europe, Asia and Latam to provide the best experience for our local customers. Each team has regional customer ownership and collaborates with other regional teams on global accounts.

About the Opportunity:

The successful candidate will think big about the future of crypto and how you can best serve institutions and HNWs in the ever growing crypto economy. You'll own the strategic direction and go-to-market strategy, including the ideal customer segment, roadmap, value proposition and messaging. You will possess the ability and willingness to balance customer needs with business priorities and articulate the rationale behind decisions.

The candidate is fully responsible for the volume and revenue growth in the North America region. You will identify the market with best ROI, lead marketing GTM strategy for institutional business, lead sales/account management/BD team to focus on NA VIP and institutional segment growth.

You're genuinely bullish on crypto assets and the adoption of blockchain in "traditional" finance. You are excited to develop long-term strategies and shorter term plans to meet the revenue goals.

This role is preferably based in New York, but there is flexibility to be based remotely.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Become and serve as an Okcoin platform expert and brand ambassador.
  • Build and maintain a high-quality sales pipeline, by qualifying and prioritizing leads efficiently and intelligently.
  • Hire, train and develop a team of sellers.
  • Develop and grow relationships with prospective institutional clients.
  • Proactively cultivate existing client relationships and drive value with senior stakeholders.
  • Implement strategies to deliver on key revenue targets for the business.
  • Help the business scale by collaborating with teammates to create, optimize, and maintain processes for sales, support and the CRM.
  • Develop and deliver a white glove experience to every client.
  • Collaborate across Product, Support and Compliance teams to continuously improve the customer experience.
  • Train a team in technician product demonstrations, delivering the value propositions for every business line, service and offering of the Okcoin platform.
  • Form relationships, manage deals, and close business in a remote world.

What We Look For In You:

  • 12+ years relevant experience, preferably in a sell-side role covering institutional clients.
  • Natural leader with proven effectiveness in leading, training sales teams
  • You have experience using a CRM for client management and sales forecasting.
  • Ability to independently source and close high profile clients.
  • Solid strategic thinking, client-facing communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Story verbal and written storytelling capabilities.
  • Ability to think creatively beyond the current market and contribute to the expansion of new business at Okcoin.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for business (as health orders permit).

Nice to Haves:

  • You are an expert in the blockchain and cryptocurrency landscape and will understand how speculators, traders, digital asset exchanges, blockchain money services businesses and financial institutions operate.
  • Experience working in a disruptive technology, successfully driving sales in new markets, ideally, within FinTech, eCommerce, SaaS, AdTech, or Digital Wallet business experience
  • A history (and preference) of being both strategic, analytical and execution-oriented
  • Intellectual curiosity
