Role Summary

In this role you will lead the Experience Design team, which is part of the wider Marketing team, and you will report into the VP of Marketing, with a dotted line to the Head of Delivery.

You will create and manage a consistent design system for Boson Protocol, across all touch points, in collaboration with the internal team and external agencies. The new user experience should simplify the way people interact with us, in line with our vision to become the decentralized network on which future commerce will run, starting with the metaverse.

Working across multiple work streams and projects you will be guiding a user-first mindset on our product suite and marketing assets, considering our target audiences: enterprise, entrepreneurs, retailers, Web2 and Web3 consumers, developers, token holders, larger investors, and the general public.

After a successful token launch in April 2021 and the delivery of the first phase of our go-to-market strategy in November (Mainnet Ethereum and the launch of our experiential space in Decentraland, Boson Portal), we are now focusing on the 2022 strategic roadmap, partnering with Web3 brands and also traditional brands to foster Metaverse Commerce first, and then Decentralized Commerce more broadly.

The role is remote and open to candidates in the UK and Western Europe. Face-to-face meetings are anticipated to occur on a monthly basis in London, according to government health guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Create a unified design system for Boson Protocol, ensuring a cohesive user experience across all touchpoints and brands in the ecosystem (Boson Protocol, Boson Portal, Redeemeum, Bvoucher Foundation, NiftyKey)
• Manage the Design team to deliver high quality assets, while supporting team members’ professional growth
• Manage external partners, such as Marketing agencies, together with the VP of Marketing, to ensure their output is also in line with the design language
• Support the marketing team with Business as Usual assets, such as social media cards, blog headers, videos, email marketing, etc.
• Collaborate with team leads in Delivery, Engineering, Product, Strategy, and Partnerships to deliver relevant and consistent design and User Experience
• Support the Partnerships team to generate relevant presentations for different industry verticals: fashion, NFT auction, luxury apparel, gaming, among others.
• Provide regular reports and insights to the wider Marketing team
• Work alongside the Delivery team to ensure a high quality Experience Design process and outputs as part of an overall integrated delivery team, ensuring timely delivery of projects in alignment with the Product and Engineering schedules
• Ensure design is consistent and essay to experience, no matter the level of comfort users may have with Web3 technology

Must have skills and attributes

• 3+ years of senior UX design and brand design management experience with blockchain/Web3 projects
• 10+ years of experience in leading design teams for Web2 companies or agencies
• Experience creating design systems that encompass all touch points with users, from websites to apps to social media.
• Hands-on experience with using various UX and design tools, including video, and especially UX design for apps and websites
• Deep knowledge of experience design disciplines from ethnographics and user research, personas, journey design and interaction design through to visual design and branding
• Keen interest in Crypto, Blockchain, DeFi, NFTs, and Metaverse (Decentraland, Cryptovoxels, The Sandbox, etc.)
• Solid experience managing teams and external suppliers
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Be process-driven, detail-oriented but also pragmatic and service-focused
• Competent working in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders
• Be proactive and diligent
• Keep open lines of communication, collaborate with other teams and suppliers
• Strong stakeholder management
• Be able to work in a remote, distributed team

Desirable skills

• Know your way around the various metaverses, from Cryptovoxels to Decentraland and everywhere in between!
• Comfortable using decentralized Crypto software such as Metamask, DEXs Liquidity Pools, etc.
