As a Member of Product - Blockchain Researcher, you will be a critical bridge between Anchorage Digital and the broader Web3 ecosystem. This role sits in our Protocol Specialist organization and is at the unique intersection of deep technical research, developer relations, and product strategy. You will be our expert-in-residence for key protocols, embedding yourself in their communities to demonstrate our technical leadership and create a tangible, value-add resource for our partners and clients. Your work will directly contribute to our growth by showcasing our expertise and differentiating Anchorage Digital in the institutional crypto landscape.

Technical Skills:

  • Proactively research protocol integrations with emerging blockchains, developing on-chain solutions that drive value for protocol foundations and institutional investors.
  • Independently define the requirements and roadmap, collaborating closely with an agile scrum team on cutting edge blockchain research and integrations.
  • Maintain a deep technical understanding of the crypto landscape, including various Layer 1 and Layer 2 protocols.
  • Demonstrate a history of meaningful contributions to technical projects with the ability to write clean, effective code as shown on your GitHub profile.
  • Leverage AI tools like Cursor, Claude, and ChatGPT to accelerate prototyping, research, and reviews thoughtfully.

Complexity and Impact of Work

  • Work closely with sales, protocol research, engineering, and product to set the pace, drive projects forward, and unblock the team.
  • Write high-quality research and technical content, including white papers and blog posts, that are clearly written and easy to understand.
  • Develop or suggest funding for developer tooling and write code for Proof of Concepts to demonstrate novel ways institutions can interact with emerging DeFi protocols and L2s.

Organizational Knowledge

  • Escalate the potential impact of protocol architecture, security, or growth potential changes to the appropriate stakeholders and your managers when appropriate.
  • Help us evaluate emerging ecosystems, separating sustainable, organic growth from inorganic hype to inform sales and product strategy.

Communication and Influence

  • Represent Anchorage Digital as a technical ambassador in online forums, at industry events, and during client engagements.
  • Act as a technical subject matter expert for both internal teams and external partners, providing deep analysis on protocol architecture.
  • Contribute directly to the growth of strategic ecosystems by participating in governance forums and submitting pull requests to open-source repositories.
  • Articulate complex technical concepts, such as Byzantine Fault Tolerance or Tendermint, to both engineering and executive audiences.

You may be a fit for this role if you have:

  • A demonstrable passion and deep technical understanding of the crypto landscape, including various Layer 1 and Layer 2 protocols.
  • A GitHub profile that demonstrates a history of meaningful contributions to technical projects and an ability to write effective code.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both engineering and executive audiences.
  • A strategic mindset, capable of understanding how grassroots technical engagement drives broader business goals.
  • A strong sense of initiative and the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Although not a requirement, bonus points if:

  • Experience in a Developer Relations, Technical Evangelism, or Protocol Specialist role at a crypto-native organization.
  • Existing relationships and a strong reputation within key blockchain ecosystems.
  • Experience presenting at technical conferences, meetups, or hackathons.
  • Familiarity with the needs of institutional participants in the digital asset space.
  • You were emotionally moved by the soundtrack to Hamilton, which chronicles the founding of a new financial system. :)
