About Parity
Parity Technologies builds core infrastructure to power a better internet—one that respects the freedom and data of individuals—and to empower developers to create better services through decentralised tech. Amongst others, Parity’s technologies include Substrate, a flexible framework for building blockchains, and Polkadot, a protocol for connecting and securing blockchains.
About the role
As Project Manager, you will report to the Director of Operations on the Ecosystem and Business Development Team. The Ecosystem and BD team support high-value and often very public strategic initiatives, things like large ecosystem projects, external partnerships, developer conferences, and product related improvements. As a result of Parity’s continued growth and scale, we are hiring across all teams, especially in Ecosystem and BD, with a goal of being more organisationally effective. In particular, we are looking to do so through improved processes, proactive thinking, and automation. Your expertise in these areas will be key in helping make our ambitious team and company goals a reality. Despite rapid growth, and our remote-first culture, we strive to remain close-knit and so frequently attend company and team-specific offsties; we look forward to having you join us!
Primarily, this role will be responsible for delivering work packages or small projects within a larger programme or project, under the direction of a more senior project manager, and will require interfacing across internal and external teams, providing research assistance, and day-to-day project management. Due to the fast-moving nature of the industry, projects at Parity tend to have aggressive deadlines; therefore, the person in this role should be able to make well-informed decisions based on limited information, and should be comfortable working well with tight deadlines. This person will also assist with scheduling for team leads.
The right candidate for this position works well with a high degree of autonomy, thrives in a dynamic work environment, and is motivated by a diverse range of project types. This role will require advanced organisational skills and an instinct for how to prioritise among the many complex aspects of a project. As this role also requires coordination across internal and external stakeholders, highly developed communication skills are of utmost importance, as is a high degree of responsibility in handling sensitive information.
What you’ll need to be successful
- Evidence of project management know-how, for example, a previous role in operations, product, or consulting
- While any professional background is welcome, preference will be given to candidates coming from the Web 2.0 or Web 3.0 sectors
- Deep technical blockchain expertise is not required, however, candidates should be familiar with blockchain technologies and the general principles of Web3
- As this role will involve interfacing with external partners, a high degree of professionalism is required
Our benefits
- Working at Parity means focusing on the stuff that counts: building the most cutting-edge technology for the future web. Our teams enjoy a high degree of trust, freedom and autonomy to achieve that goal.
- You will gain a keen understanding of blockchain technology and business development and have a skill set transferable to many jobs.
- Because we value initiative and learning, we've defined a generous personal budget to attend conferences or skills courses of your choosing. We think you know what's best for you!
- Parity is a diverse company with people from various countries, and we will support you with German or English language courses where needed.
- Not all of us who collaborate work in the same place. Bringing the team together is something we value a lot, so we regularly go on team retreats (subject to current pandemic restrictions for the health of our contributors and teams).
