Nova Labs is hiring a Web3 Senior Security Engineer
Compensation: $199k - $286k

Nova Labs is searching for a Senior Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our security measures and protect our organization’s systems and data. This position will identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities, develop security protocols and procedures. This position will monitor security tools and technologies, ensure compliance with security policies, and conduct security audits to identify potential threats or weaknesses.

Responsibilities:
- Own the Security Engineering function at Nova Labs.
- Design, implement, and maintain secure systems and networks, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security devices.
- Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk assessments to identify and prioritize potential security risks and vulnerabilities.
- Develop and implement security measures, policies, and procedures to protect systems and networks against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security incidents.
- Monitor and analyze security logs and events, and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
- Conduct security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, industry best practices, and organizational security policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that security requirements are incorporated into system and network design, development, and implementation processes.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to ensure that security controls are effectively implemented and maintained.
- Stay updated on the latest security threats, technologies, and industry trends, and provide recommendations for improving security posture.
- Work cross functionally with Sales, Legal, and Engineering to ensure best practices across the organization.
- Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and recovery efforts, as needed.
- Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees and users about security best practices and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in security engineering, network security, and IT security.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Secureframe, Google Workspace, and SOC 2 compliance standards.
- Strong knowledge of security principles, best practices, and industry standards.
- Hands-on experience with security technologies, such as firewalls, antivirus, and vulnerability scanning tools.
- Experience with risk assessment, penetration testing, and incident response methodologies.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, such as TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing/switching.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Compensation:
- Total compensation structure at Nova Labs is base salary + equity.
- Nova Labs is a remote-first company and takes a market-based approach to base salary pay.
- Pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. For candidates outside of metro market areas, we use the state average.
- The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
- The salary pay scale for the target experience and target skill set across all locations for this role: $199,000 - $286,000.
