As the Financial Controller at BANXA 🚀 you will be responsible for leading the accounting and financial operations team and providing guidance on statutory compliance matters in supporting BANXA’S 🚀 growth ambitions. Specifically, you will be responsible for the management of the Group’s month end financial close and preparation of financial statements for annual, half-year and quarterly reporting and manage statutory taxation requirements for the Group.
You will report to the Group Head of Finance and work closely with the Group CFO and advisors to meet tax compliance requirements and prepare statutory accounts in an accurate and timely basis. What You'll Do 👀
Financial Control
- You will manage and control all accounting operations in a multi-currency, multi-entity global business
- You will lead the Group’s end to end financial close and reporting process
- You will be responsible for the ongoing leadership and development of team members responsible for Financial Control and External Reporting
- You will always ensure adherence to all accounting standards and guidelines, providing technical accounting guidance as required
- You will manage working capital and cash-flow forecasting
- You will ensure all accounting policies are correctly applied
- You will continuously reduce financial operating risks and improve financial control and accounting processes.
Taxation
- You will provide guidance on a wide range of tax issues including corporate tax, GST/VAT, FBT, Payroll Tax, etc.
- You will manage the statutory taxation obligations for group entities in Australia, Europe and North America including preparing tax calculation work papers
- You will manage the Transfer Pricing policy with internal and external stakeholders
- You will be responsible for liaising with tax advisors to manage tax planning, structuring and administration for the Group
Reporting
- You will ensure accurate and timely preparation of statutory reporting for all entities within the Group structure including consolidated Annual, Half Year and Quarterly reporting
- You will be responsible for the technical oversight and policy development for material balance sheet items
- You will assist in the research of accounting standards for use in supporting the Group’s accounting positions.
Other
- You will assist with various internal projects and adhoc tasks as requested from time to time
You should apply if ✅
- You have 7+ years’ experience post qualification experience in a similar role required (with a focus on taxation, technical accounting, and listed company reporting)
- You will have extensive experience preparing or auditing listed company statutory financial statements under IFRS or US GAAP.
- You will be proficient in IFRS (technical accounting) and tax compliance and able to communicate such matters in a practical and commercial manner to financial and non-financial stakeholders
- You will have previous experience with multi-currency, multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional consolidations, as a preparer or auditor
- You will possess strong leadership skills, with proven demonstrated people management experience, to mentor and develop our accounting team.
- You will have the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet internal and external driven deadlines as required
- You will have the ability to be hands-on with proven experience driving performance across a team-oriented environment
- You will have proven demonstrated experience to thrive in a high-volume and fast-paced business
- You will have excellent written and verbal communication
- You will have ongoing commitment to delivery
What will put you on top of our shortlist 🏔
- You will have knowledge of crypto assets and blockchain technology, Fintech, RegTech, Payments will be advantageous
- Previous experience with ERP systems and BI tools (e.g. NetSuite / Power BI) is an advantage.
- Previous experience in a small to medium sized high growth organisation, preferable global in footprint, is an advantage
