CoinList has a dynamic legal team that serves an integral function in supporting the company’s expanding corporate needs and product initiatives. As we add complexity to our growing business, we need someone to lead efforts to scale our legal processes, enhance our internal controls, and manage our legal operations. As part of the team, you would apply your background in a traditional financial services or law firm setting to a fast-paced and cutting-edge environment. You would be responsible for legal analysis and advising in relation to emerging platform and product offerings. Importantly, you would be able to work independently and own your workflow.

This is a full-time position located in SF, NY, or remote.

• You are familiar with securities, banking or other financial regulations and have experience negotiating and executing commercial transactions, as well as providing general commercial or corporate advice.
• You’re excited about cryptocurrency.

What you will do:

• Provide full product life-cycle counseling for a variety of platform products. You will ensure product compliance with applicable laws and regulations, in close collaboration with colleagues in Legal and Compliance teams.
• Provide thought leadership and strategic direction on novel digital currency, blockchain technology, legal and regulatory issues
• Lead complex and global cross-functional efforts, driving and ensuring cross-functional alignment with all internal stakeholders (Business Development/Sales, Product/Engineering, Operations, Compliance).
• Proactively solve processes and other problems for the business as it executes on an accelerated and aggressive global growth plan (including by developing, documenting and improving internal processes, procedures and controls for an increasingly complex and sophisticated operation).
• Drive global expansion through regulatory due diligence.

Relevant Background:

• A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset.
• An opportunity-making attitude, using the law to increase the company’s optionality.
• 3+ years of relevant experience analyzing and applying financial services and securities laws and regulations, whether at a top law firm, in house, or at a financial regulator.
• Admission to practice law in the United States.
• Demonstrated knowledge of crypto products and applicable regulations.
