Figment – Assistant Controller– Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for a self-motivated, highly organized and tech-savvy Assistant Controller to lead us through a new financial system implementation and process improvements. The position offers a considerable opportunity to have a large impact within a hypergrowth and evolving organization.

Working closely with the Financial Controller, Assistant Controller will lead an ERP (likely Netsuite) implementation and other system improvements, help streamline accounting processes and procedures and manage day-to-day accounting and finance functions. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in financial systems change, thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and is excited about the opportunity to navigate the complexities and varying degrees of ambiguities in crypto accounting.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Lead the new system selection and implementation
• Participate in special projects/assignments (i.e.transition to US GAAP)
• Assist with analysis and documentation of complex accounting issues and transactions
• Oversee month end close
• Assist with management reporting and budget preparation
• Assist with audit prep and due diligence inquiries
• Provide guidance and support to finance staff
• Help implement best practices and enhance internal controls over financial reporting
• Other ad-hoc projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications

• CPA Designation
• 8+ years of experience
• Experience in financial systems implementation
• Strong US GAAP knowledge
• Excellent attention to detail
• Tech-savvy and excited about new technologies
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple competing priorities
• Familiarity with and interest in the blockchain space is an asset
