About the Team:

The Economics team uses a market design approach to develop practical incentive mechanisms that scale to more than a billion participants of the Worldcoin network. In our team, Economists, Computer Scientists and Statisticians work together to rapidly design, build, and field-test Operator auctions, user incentive programs, fraud mitigation techniques, etc., that work robustly with thousands of Operators and billions of users around the world. Using data from large-scale field experiments, we iterate quickly and often to optimize our designs.

About the Opportunity:

You will be responsible for field-testing Worldcoin’s economic mechanisms. The scope includes the design, implementation, execution, and evaluation of large-scale field tests of our auction mechanism, user incentive programs, fraud mitigation techniques, user engagement measures, etc. With your work, you will have a large impact, influencing the design and parametrization of the mechanisms Worldcoin will use on a global scale.

  • Work with other members of the Economics team to propose field experiments for evaluating our economic mechanisms
  • Design, implement, and execute field experiments
  • Work with econometricians/statistician to analyze the resulting experimental/field data
  • Propose and test behavior change mechanisms

About You:

The ideal candidate is a practically-oriented person who thrives in a fast-paced and continuously evolving environment, with a proven track record of successfully designing, implementing, executing, and evaluating field experiments. We’re open to both junior and senior candidates for this position.

  • PhD in Economics or related field, with a focus on experimental economics
  • Broad experience designing, implementing, executing, and evaluating field experiments and deriving insights from field data
  • Experience in behavioral economics or behavior change methods
  • High-quality publications in experimental economics/behavioral economics a plus
