The Role: Middle Office Analyst
We are seeking a Middle Office Analyst to support the firm’s trading and investment activities across centralized finance (CeFi), decentralized finance (DeFi), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and broader crypto-related transactions. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of trade operations while working closely with the trading, finance, compliance, and technology teams.
The ideal candidate will have experience in trading operations, risk management, and trade reconciliation, with a strong ability to analyze and optimize processes in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Trade Operations & Reconciliation:
- Record, trace, audit, and settle all crypto-related transactions and investments across various venues and counterparties.
- Reconcile trade capture and day trading activity with accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor trade lifecycle events and proactively address any discrepancies.
Risk & Compliance Support:
- Ensure transactions adhere to company policies, risk limits, and regulatory requirements across different jurisdictions.
- Work with compliance teams to support reporting and regulatory adherence.
Financial Reporting & P&L Calculation:
- Assist in preparing daily P&L, pricing statements, and financial reporting for internal stakeholders.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on portfolio positions.
Technology & Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with the technology team to enhance middle office systems and improve workflow automation.
- Help develop dashboards and monitoring tools for trading operations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Liaise with accounting, legal, and external service providers to ensure smooth operational processes.
- Support integration of new trading platforms and counterparties.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 1-4 years of relevant experience in a trading operations, middle office, or investment support role within financial services.
- Strong understanding of trading workflows, reconciliations, risk management, and trade settlements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong work ethic, high level of integrity, and a proactive mindset.
- Experience with DeFi, NFTs, or digital asset trading.
Preferred Skills & Experience (Plus but Not Required)
- Familiarity with crypto PMS (Portfolio Management Systems) such as Haruko or similar platforms.
- Programming experience in Python, SQL, Solidity, or other relevant languages.
- Prior experience in financial services risk management, clearing, or treasury operations.
Location & Work Environment
Wave is headquartered in Los Angeles, with a preference for candidates who can work on-site at least two days per week. However, remote candidates with relevant experience will also be considered.
