Company Description

It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. Initially built to take the pain out of peer-to-peer payments, Cash App has gone from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic ecosystem, developing unique financial products, including Afterpay/Clearpay, to provide a better way to send, spend, invest, borrow and save to our 47 million monthly active customers. We want to redefine the world’s relationship with money to make it more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible.

Today, Cash App has thousands of employees working globally across office and remote locations, with a culture geared toward innovation, collaboration and impact. Job Description

This role sits within the Cash App Financial Product Operations team (FinOps). This team is responsible for managing the Financial Infrastructure Platform that underpins Cash App. The Financial Infrastructure Platform is what makes it possible for payments to be made and received safely, efficiently and cost effectively. It also makes it possible to invest in stocks, bitcoin and provide access to other financial instruments (lending products). The Financial Infrastructure Platform is the foundation on which our Cash products are built and plays a critical role in enabling product strategy. The Platform is built from a series of interconnected third party services and products, including Bank Lending partners.

As the Head of Bank Lending Partnerships, you will be responsible for the strategic direction of our Bank Lending Partnership model and will partner closely with the Product team to bring new initiatives to market that rely on strong relationships with our Banking partners. You will manage a team that oversees day-to-day operations with the Bank partners and helps ensure that the products and services Cash is building meet our bank partners’ requirements. In addition, you’ll be involved in identifying new partners for Lending products and negotiating the commercial terms of Cash’s partnerships.

You will:

  • Act and be trusted as the group SME for lending, responsible for innovating with Product teams and establishing strategic direction for lending programs
  • Act as the ‚ÄėVoice of the Bank‚Äô within the business - advising internal stakeholders on how to develop products and initiatives that will work within the risk tolerance of the Bank partners
  • Maintain strong relationships and knowledge in the Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) industry to feed into strategy development and future partner selection
  • Drive and foster a culture of collaboration and partnership with both our external and internal partners to drive strong performance across the Cash lending programs
  • Operationalize SLAs and KPIs to drive bank partner performance e.g. for response time on approvals
  • Oversee the process for new product concepts that require bank input and approval
  • Drive internal operational consistency for Bank-related processes through internal coordination and process improvements
  • Oversee regulatory inquiries and examinations and other required requests from our bank partners
  • Work with cross functional teams across Product, Marketing, Engineering, Finance, Credit, Compliance, Legal, Customer Service and other major internal stakeholders to deliver on critical projects with our bank partners

Qualifications

You have:

  • 10+ years of Financial Services experience, predominantly in Lending. Ideal candidates will have prior experience managing banking partners, or have worked in a bank partner who provide services to FinTechs
  • 5+ years leadership experience including building out and cultivating high performing teams
  • Strong relationship building skills with executives and technical teams and the ability to develop consensus and drive stakeholders to a decision
  • Strong understanding of laws and regulatory requirements pertaining to Cash App‚Äôs Lending products
  • Experience negotiating, and a strong knowledge of, lending partnership economics for a variety of consumer lending products
