Role Overview

We’re looking for a Business Development Associate to support institutional adoption of Multiliquid. This is a supportive, entry-level BD role focused on assisting with client outreach and management for trading desks, exchanges, corporate treasuries, stablecoin issuers, crypto platforms, fintechs, platform businesses, TradFi firms, and other capital allocators that can benefit from instant access to and convertibility between risk-free, yield-bearing assets and deep liquidity.

As our first BD hire, you’ll help shape our go-to-market strategy under the guidance of the founders, prepare sales materials, and contribute to building long-term client relationships. Initially, the CEO and co-founder will lead sales meetings, with opportunities for you to grow into more responsibilities as we expand the team. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn how to translate technical value into commercial outcomes and help build the future of institutional DeFi from the ground up.


Key Responsibilities

Client Acquisition & Sales Execution

  • Assist in developing and executing direct sales strategies targeting institutional clients across crypto and traditional finance.
  • Support the full sales cycle, from prospecting and outreach to preparing product demos, gathering negotiation inputs, and helping with closing.
  • Help identify liquidity pain points and positioning opportunities for Multiliquid across client workflows.

Relationship Building

  • Support in establishing and nurturing relationships with key decision-makers at trading firms, exchanges, asset managers, foundations, stablecoin issuers, stablecoin payment orchestrators, fintechs, platforms, and TradFi firms.
  • Research client-specific use cases around cash management, capital efficiency, and liquidity management.
  • Act as a supporting point of contact before, during, and after onboarding.

Product Education & Advocacy

  • Help articulate Multiliquid’s core value proposition as the neutral liquidity coordination layer, not a blockchain, but the rails that connect them with real-world financial use cases.
  • Assist in simplifying complex technical concepts and preparing materials on how the protocol enables seamless asset flows, composability, and yield access.
  • Support demos and client-facing sessions in partnership with product and engineering teams.

Market Intelligence & Lead Generation

  • Conduct research to identify high-value prospects and emerging opportunities in institutional on-chain finance.
  • Attend events, build a network in the institutional DeFi and digital asset ecosystem, and generate qualified leads.
  • Share market insights with internal teams to inform product development and strategic positioning.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with product, marketing, and engineering to ensure the sales narrative is aligned with roadmap and messaging.
  • Provide feedback on customer needs, integration requirements, and onboarding friction to inform the development of Multiliquid and other future products.
  • Track pipeline progress and report on KPIs using CRM tools.

Growth Potential (Future Scope)

  • As the team grows, contribute to recruiting additional sales talent and formalizing sales processes.
  • Help build repeatable systems for scaling revenue, from playbooks to partnership frameworks.
  • Support expansion of our client base across new verticals and jurisdictions.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 2+ years in B2B sales, business development, or related roles, ideally within financial services, blockchain, crypto infrastructure, fintech, or B2B SaaS (including internships or entry-level positions).
  • Some track record of supporting deals with institutional clients or high-value accounts.
  • Experience assisting with trading desks, exchanges, or corporate treasury teams is a plus.

Sales & Communication Skills

  • Ability to support lead generation, manage a pipeline, and contribute to deals under guidance.
  • Strong communication, research, and presentation skills—able to learn to bridge technical and business audiences.
  • Clear, persuasive storyteller with a talent for building trust and driving urgency.

Industry & Technical Understanding

  • Basic familiarity with DeFi, stablecoins, tokenized assets, or digital treasury management.
  • Willingness to learn about smart contract infrastructure and liquidity protocols in relatable, business-focused language.
  • Able to synthesize product knowledge and market insights into tailored pitches with support.
