Web3 Business Development Manager

We are seeking a sales and business development leader with deep experience in blockchain technology. This role will be responsible for leading relationship development and sales of blockchain infrastructure, tools and applications to large enterprises, organizations and governments.

The Business Development Manager will be expected to spend half of their time acquiring new clients for our blockchain products and half of their time engaging with existing clients to deepen their relationship with Horizen Labs. This role will involve extensive relationship-building with C-suite executives at some of the largest companies in the world in order to understand their business challenges and the solutions our products can provide. It will also involve active engagement with existing clients to ensure products are exceeding expectations.This position will require an agile mind that can compellingly explain complex technical concepts to those unfamiliar with blockchain technology. Most of all, we're looking for someone with the passion to help Horizen Labs grow into the go-to blockchain partner for the world's most important organizations.

What You'll Own:

  • Own your own success - You will be responsible for selling Horizen Labs' products and your performance will be measured through financial and other sales metrics.
  • Discovery and Diagnosis - Lead sales discussions with prospective clients, investigate broad themes in industry verticals, and communicate findings to Product, Product Marketing, and Sales Engineering.
  • Preparation and Analysis - Collaborate across functional groups to develop customized enterprise blockchain solutions with clearly articulable ROIs.
  • Pitching and Negotiation - Liaise with Engineering, Product, Operations and Legal departments to prepare proposals for potential clients and shepherd deals through closing and beyond.
  • Customer Success- Help existing clients excel with Horizen Labs products and services to ensure clients achieve promised ROIs and to understand how products can be enhanced or extended to better meet client needs.
  • Continuous Improvement - Iterate on the company's sales methodology and sales process to ensure our growth metrics are achieved.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of experience in a high-impact enterprise technology sales environment, some demonstration of sales track record (targets hit, awards received, etc) is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and networking skills, an existing rolodex of potential clients preferred or at least some demonstrable experience building relationships with C-suite and other senior management.
  • A demonstrated ability to craft solutions to enterprise business problems or pain points, including the ability to deeply understand a business through investigation and research.
  • A passion for blockchain technology, DeFi applications, NFTs, wallets, explorers, DAO tools, other key Web3 building blocks and tools.
  • Experience with well-known sales methodologies or a proprietary structured approach to the selling process.
  • Comfortable using technology, including Google Workspace, Excel, and Powerpoint.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex blockchain/crypto topics to non-experts.
  • Intellectual curiosity, humility, and creativity.
  • Candidates with an MBA or technical Master's and a track record of selling Hyperledger or Corda solutions preferred.
