Web3 Devops Team Lead

About Lava:
At Lava we believe blockchain data should be accurate and access to this data should be scalable, private, and uncensored.  Our mission is to create a marketplace for blockchain data via aligned token incentives and an open-source protocol for RPC nodes and APIs.  We are backed by some of the top crypto-native venture capital funds and angel investors.

With a deep technical background in cybersecurity, we have extensive experience in finding, exploiting, or patching digital vulnerabilities.  As a team we are accomplished founders, CTOs, engineers, and business people inspired to support the creativity blockchains are unlocking and its future applications. 

Where we need help:
We have been running our private testnet for a few months and we are ready to scale our operations ahead of public testnet later this year.  To be prepared we need to level up our assets, adding redundancies and add load balancing services.  We are also seeking to improve our process, deployment, and monitoring tools for these operations.

Assets include external blockchain nodes, internal lava nodes, side channel service providers, and products including our high-throughput data gateway, 

Your Job:

• Lead and manage our All-Star DevOps team
• Coordinate, assign and review work among our DevOps engineers who:  
  • Containerize our various products, with the top standard of monitoring of our networking and performance, managed with advanced cloud services
  • Plan, design, and implement the orchestration of our operations, adding load balancing,  availability, geolocation, and  scalability to our services
  • Improve our products and blockchain deployment, developing tools and methods to automate deployments while maintaining the security of our assets
  • Learn and apply external blockchain node operations, and add these to our company's assets inline with our high standard of operations
  • Design & Implement the DevOps platform and tools from the ground up to support every step in the development lifecycle including orchestration, versioning, monitoring, packaging, IaC, and testing
  • Manage and maintain existing infrastructure, improve and develop it further.

Qualifications:

• 3+ Engineering management experience
• 5 years in an active DevOps role
• Hands-on experience with a major Cloud Provider
• Strong knowledge of Linux environments (SElinux, LVM, services, logrotate, etc.)
• Experience working with Docker and containerization
• Experience with programming languages, preferably Go
• Experience with secure architecture implementation and design on AWS, including high availability, disaster recovery, and security

Preferred Experience:

• Planning and deploying k8s operations on scale
• Multi-cloud knowledge & strategies
• Any blockchain nodes deployment
• Familiarity with blockchain technologies (++ for Cosmos)
