Web3 Gaming UGC Product Manager (Remote)

Compensation: $54k - $75k estimated

Location: WA Bellevue US

Midnight Society is a AAA game development studio building a PvPvE online multiplayer game that leverages a platform focused on providing early access to our pre-launched titles, ability to trade and sell entitlements earned in games (NFTs) and a robust user-generated content (UGC) marketplace where creators can create and publish skins, maps, mods, and content to the community for purchase.

Our early Access Pass model, currently in its Founder’s stage, has over 400k users signed up within a week to participate with 10k already approved and playing early Snapshot builds. The ideal candidate will work with the platform and game team to conceptualize and help build the model for how our early access players, UGC creators, and NFT holders work together to evangelize, expand, and extend the games within the Midnight Society ecosystem.

Our approach and studio is currently backed by founders who are veterans of the game industry with multiple past exits, several prominent venture capital firms, angel investors, and influential strategic partners.

In this role you will

  • Work with the executive team to define, develop and market our vision of the platform layer that can drive community initiatives and reward them for their evangelism.
  • Develop end to end strategy that supports community initiatives, mods, modes and UGC content and plan timeline to align development with our flagship game.
  • Build and/or partner with web3 and gaming tools to inspire and incorporate UGC content within games and gaming content including graphical content, mods, modes, community tools, video content, bots etc
  • Identity build opportunities around four pillars that our community loves to engage in - game play, content, creating UGC content and evangelizing
  • Work with gaming team on design mechanics which drive community to evangelize and/or build in game assets, enabling players long-term goals to invest in the world and their character and tuning the live system
  • Work with data analytics team to understand usage patterns and manage platform’s community retention, engagement, and reengagement metrics
  • Must be able to continuously balance the above motivation systems to create a fun and retaining metagame experience for community members
  • Have a deep understanding of game monetization including knowledge of live KPIs and how to use them to measure incentive structures for contributors
  • Keep up to date with live service and metagame design trends within video game development and share solutions that will innovate both the community experience and the creative development of the platform
  • Define, uphold and communicate live service and metagame principles to the team
  • Take initiative in working with a high-performing team at executing initiatives, communicating and collaborating

The ideal candidate will possess
  • Excellent understanding of the changing landscape within the world of gaming especially cross platform nature of high fidelity games, influencers, short form videos, esports, content proliferation around gaming and how that shapes community narratives.
  • Very good understanding of existing platform tools used for modding like Steam, Curse and community management like discord bots as well as platforms for UGC games like Roblox, Minecraft, Core, Epic Create.
  • Good understanding of web 3.0, NFT’s, and tokenomics.
  • Out of the box thinking on how core web3 principles can drive evangelism, ownership, p2p trading and UGC ecosystem and use of NFT’s across games within an ecosystem
  • Been involved with at least one gaming studio / esports / gaming company
  • Ability to wireframe concepts into actionable items
  • Ability to communicate complex metagame and concepts to the entire team
  • Mastery of utilizing spreadsheets to design, model inventory and progression systems that are directly related to shaping UGC content
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Bonus – Experience with web3 tooling is a big plus
  • Bonus – Action/Shooter game experience is a plus
