Web3 Head of Game Design

ZTX is a virtual world empowering creators and communities. Founded in 2022, ZTX is the blockchain initiative enabled by the technology and IP of ZEPETO — the largest metaverse in Asia with over 430 million lifetime users.

Building with mass adoption in mind, we are creating a web-based 3D open world with varying levels of gamification integrated as well as opportunities for users to monetize via ownership of digital assets and social interaction. Our goal is to empower creators and communities to build, play, and earn — a world where users of all backgrounds can chart their journeys into a world beyond the physical.

ZTX is looking for an experienced Head of Game Design to lead the vision and game direction of our 3D open world. This is a hands-on role requiring an innovative approach to developing new gaming experiences on the blockchain, in what could possibly become one of the largest crypto-centric metaverse platforms in the world. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of leading both 3D development as well as game mechanics in areas as wide ranging as avatar design to world gameplay to system designs.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the creative expansion and refinement of ZTX, player experience, systems design, avatar, and gameplay systems with an eye towards delivering fun and immersive casual social games
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with all development and art disciplines to ensure a best-in-industry production process that avoids silos and reinforces a unified product vision
• Set clear design goals and deliverables, focusing the design team on achieving a high-quality, cohesive experience for all players
• Create clear design documentation that explicitly answers the why’s of design decisions
• Collaborate with our in-house UX/UI designers in Figma to ensure the design experience is cohesive through concept to implementation phase
• Be a partner with cross-disciplinary performance, user research, community, competitive insights, and marketing teams to deliver high quality, player focused content and features
• Be a consistent source of clarity and positive energy

About You:

• 10+ years experience in game design
• 3+ years in a lead management role
• Launched at least 3 successful game titles from inception through live ops
• Deep understanding of player motivations for online social games
• World builder
• Curious, open minded, and flexible to adapt based on a continuously evolving frontier of new technologies
• A strong interest to build an open metaverse platform that onboards millions of web2 users to web3
• Familiar with the crypto ecosystem (DeFi, NFTs, identity)
• Energized to work with a fully decentralized team that spans multiple time zones
