Foundry is hiring a Web3 Manager, Economic/Community Development

DESCRIPTION: The Manager, Economic/Community Development is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to join the team at Foundry, a subsidiary of the blockchain industry’s most prolific and active investor, Digital Currency Group. Reporting to the Director, Economic/Community Development, the Manager Economic/Community Development is responsible for implementing all aspects of the Mining Engineer Fellowship service delivery and instruction and promoting ROC the Block programs. ROC the Block is Foundry’s outreach initiative designed to address and solve some of Rochester's most pressing socio-economic challenges. The Mining Engineer Fellowship is the first program within ROC the Block and is a training program designed to create equity of access for recent Rochester City School graduates into the blockchain industry.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Mining Engineer Fellowship program and the program participants
- Serve as a mentor and coach to program participants, supporting excellent performance and program completion
- Develop, maintain, and provide instruction of program curriculums, including but not limited to:
- Job Readiness Training
- Financial Literacy Training
- Tech Training*
- Help build and maintain relationships with community partner organizations to effectively recruit program participants and support ongoing Roc the Block initiatives
- Develop an applicant screening process and program qualification standards to ensure a seamless application process and top-quality candidate pools
- Support the creation and promotion of ongoing ROC the Block programs, identifying future opportunities to grow the program and drive a positive community impact
- Maintain appropriate records and data collection
- Provide transportation to program participants for program events and activities, as needed*
- Assist the Director, Economic / Community Development when necessary
ABOUT YOU:
- A positive attitude about youth
- Excellent training, presentation, and teaching skills
- Ability to build cooperative relationships with youth and support systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Candidates must possess a valid drives license and have reliable access to vehicle transportation to provide easy access to services for youth: outreach into the community, at-home services for participants when required, on-site services, outreach to schools and other community locations.
- Functional with Microsoft Office Suite
