About the role:

As a SOC Lead at ConsenSys, you will be responsible for building and evolving our Security Operations Center team which in turn will be responsible for the proactive monitoring, detection, containment, and remediation of security threats. The team will also be responsible for working closely with Developers, DevOps and SRE engineers across the company to ensure our cloud-based enterprise production systems are adequately monitored and protected from malicious and accidental disruption to availability, confidentiality, and integrity within the business operations environment. This includes the continuous improvement of our security processes & tools

Responsibilities will include:

• Build a multi-regional team of SOC engineers to provide 24x7 response for all security alerts
• Design, implement and continuously improve the SOC processes, tools and solutions used to proactively monitor and address security incidents, threats and vulnerabilities  effectively
• Partner with Developers, SRE & DevOps engineers to develop security response runbooks to continuously improve the SOC effectiveness, and, improve security monitoring, alerting and remediation  by training and empowering teams to respond to security events,  
• Mentor SOC engineers on the team and help them grow in the role 
• Develop and track Key Performance Indicator for the Security Operations Center 
• Managing security events from security appliances including but not limited to Endpoint Security, Cloud security, Vulnerability Management, and native cloud security controls
• Represent SecOps in software and solution design reviews, working with engineering teams to meet security operational readiness including SOC 2 and ISO27001 controls
• Collaborate with product teams to integrate multiple data streams and feeds from networks, infrastructure services, mission/business applications into a near, real-time dashboard for use in troubleshooting and security incident response activities
• Collaborate closely with the Information Security team on the development and rollout of the organizational information security strategy and architecture

Qualifications: 

• 5+ years of experience as a technical tech/team lead for Security Operations 
• Knowledge of Security engineering toolbox and technologies (Container security, SIEM, WAF, Firewall, DEP, Vulnerability scanning, RBAC, etc)
• Experience working directly with operations teams to manage production environments
• Experience utilizing logs and analysis tools to assist in cyber threat detection and incident response activities as required.
• Demonstrated understanding of networking in a production environment (Virtual Networks, Advanced routing, IPsec tunnels, VPN, GRE, policy based routing, DDos protection)
• Hands-on experience working with cloud providers such as Azure and AWS
• Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to think on feet and resolve issues in a fast paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written English skills
• Self-starter who can operate independently in a global environment

Nice to have:

• Experience in building a technical team from the ground up 
• Experience working with cloud native tools and solutions for securing production environments (like Microsoft Defender, Azure Sentinel, Azure FrontDoor, Azure Policies, etc)
• Experience working with container security tools (Stackrox, Aqua or similar)
• Experience working on SOC2 / ISO27001 certifications is an advantage
• Production operations experience is an advantage 
• Familiarity with CI/CD methodologies and tools
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and docker 
• Familiarity with ITIL concepts and ITIL v3 certification 
• Technological degree in Computer science or equivalent
• An understanding of blockchain technology and the Ethereum ecosystem
