Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Backend Python Engineer with a strong track record in building fast APIs to join our team. As a Backend Python Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the backend infrastructure that powers our PlaiDay Bot and Discord server. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration and an exceptional user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance and scalable backend APIs for our PlaiDay Bot and Discord server.Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate APIs seamlessly.Optimize server performance and response times to ensure a smooth user experience.Write clean and maintainable code, following best practices and coding standards.Debug and resolve issues, ensuring system stability and reliability.Implement security measures to protect user data and the server environment.Collaborate with the team to define technical requirements and specifications for new features.Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency.Create and maintain technical documentation.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of professional experience as an OOP Python programming experience
- Proven experience in FastAPI development and RESTful API design.
- In-depth knowledge experience with GCP services, especially Spanner, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Run.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization technologies like Docker.
- Expertise in database management, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of asynchronous programming, using tools such as Celery or asyncio.
- Experience with Docker and containerization, including CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Redis and RabbitMQ for efficient data storage and message queuing.
- Strong knowledge of microservice architecture principles.
- Understanding of Stable Diffusion for advanced backend operations.
- Ability to work with real-time communication technologies and WebSockets.
- Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
- Understanding of best security practices in API development.
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with cloud services, such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience with real-time communication technologies and WebSockets.
- Contributions to open-source projects or a strong online presence in the developer community.
