This role will provide regulatory support to BitGo’s custody, trading and staking services across the EMEA region.

Responsibilities:

• Provide advice on relevant financial services and payments laws and regulations
• Manage regulatory requests and filings
• Lead legal regulatory reviews for strategic deals and contracts in EMEA
• Monitor regulatory developments in EMEA (e.g. MICA, e.g. DORA, GDPR) and advise on its impact to BitGo
• Support ongoing compliance obligations and respond to regulatory changes and developments
• Provide advice to internal stakeholders on regulatory matters in EMEA
• Escalating issues to senior team members as appropriate.
• Pitching in whenever and wherever needed, even when not directly related to responsibilities described above.

Requirements:

• Law Degree. Fully qualified lawyer.
• 4+ years PQE experience in a top-tier law firm with exposure to international legal systems and ways of doing business and/or in-house legal experience at an international financial services company.
• Practical experience interfacing with regulators and external auditors
• Ability to balance multiple tasks in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assess and balance legal risks against business interests.
• Preference for a candidate with interest in blockchain and digital assets.
• Flexible, “can-do” attitude and willingness to learn
• Full fluency in English, both written and verbal
