About the Role

As our Risk Officer, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across Kriptomat’s operations, with a focus on AML, information security and outsourcing management. You will play a key role in ensuring that our risk management framework aligns with both international and local regulations, helping to safeguard the company from financial, operational, and compliance risks.

In this role, you will also oversee outsourcing management, ensuring that third-party service providers comply with regulatory requirements and align with Kriptomat’s risk policies. You will work closely with internal teams, including AML specialists, compliance officers, product, marketing, finance and management, to develop and implement risk-based controls.

This is a strategic and hands-on role, requiring expertise in risk management, financial crime prevention, and vendor oversight, as well as strong analytical and decision-making skills to protect Kriptomat’s business and customers. You will report directly to management and the Chief Compliance Officer while collaborating with cross-functional teams to strengthen our risk framework.

Location: Full-time in Estonia

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) system to identify, assess, and mitigate risks.

• Conduct risk assessments for customers, products, and transactions.

• Collaborate with the MLRO on high-risk accounts and AML-related activities.

• Implement a risk-based approach for AML processes and fraud prevention.

• Monitor regulatory developments that may impact risk exposure and ensure compliance.

• Prepare regular risk reports for senior management, highlighting trends and potential threats.

• Develop and manage outsourcing management systems,

• Work closely with legal and other teams to manage outsourcing contracts and regulatory obligations.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong background in risk assessment, AML compliance, and financial crime prevention.

• Deep understanding of MiCAR and DORA and outsourcing compliance standards.

• Experience in vendor due diligence, contract compliance, and regulatory oversight.

• Ability to analyze risk trends and create actionable reports for decision-making.

• Strong teamwork and clear communication with MLRO, CCO, and compliance teams.

• Skilled in compliance tools, risk monitoring systems, and data analysis.

• Degree in risk management, law, finance, or a related field; certifications such as CRISC, CAMS, ICA preferred.

• 3+ years in risk and compliance roles, including outsourcing management.

• High ethical standards and attention to detail

• Used to working in a dynamic and fast-paced business environment

• Affinity to technical innovation and a genuine interest in the crypto industry as well as the IT industry

• A network within the crypto industry is a huge advantage
