Pye
$70k - $110k
New York, NY, USA

About Pye Pye is building the next generation of liquid staking infrastructure on Solana, starting with Liquid Staking Bonds (LSBs) - a new DeFi primitive that transforms stake accounts into tradable bonds. Our mission is to build Solana's yield curve, unlocking new yield products for stakers and new revenue streams for validators.

We’re looking for a motivated, independent researcher passionate about the Solana ecosystem - especially staking, validator economics, and DeFi.

What You’ll Do

  • Research validator economics, delegation patterns, staking flows, restaking models, and yield markets across Solana.
  • Track validator performance across metrics like commission changes, uptime, and delegation shifts.
  • Collaborate on new validator-centric primitives (staking bonds, restaked vaults, revenue-sharing mechanisms.
  • Study correlations and yield patterns from traditional bond markets and apply them to on-chain bond markets.
  • Collaborate with product & engineering teams to translate research into product experiments and roadmap initiatives.
  • Partner with ecosystem participants to uncover insights and co-author research and educational content.
  • Write memos, strategic briefs, and public-facing content to build awareness and thought leadership.
  • Stay on top of governance changes, validator tooling, MEV design, and ecosystem developments that impact staking.

Who You Are

  • Researcher who is passionate about Solana, validator infrastructure, and staking economics.
  • Technical, you're familiar with staking models, incentive systems, and on-chain protocol mechanisms.
  • Familiar with core Solana architecture - stake accounts, epochs, LSTs, restaking flows, MEV.
  • Strong written communicator - able to distill complex topics for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative and transparent - open to feedback and comfortable working across teams.

Bonus:

  • Experience or fluency in staking, DeFi, or fixed-income/structured products.
  • Background in finance, engineering, or crypto-native research.

Excellent writing and communication skills.

  • Comfortable in async, remote-first environments.
  • Strong instincts for identifying high-impact problems and framing useful questions.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Values open collaboration, feedback, and intellectual honesty.
  • Compensation

    • Competitive salary and/or token incentives based on experience.
    • Flexible arrangements for the right candidate.
    • Opportunity to grow with a team building novel validator-first infrastructure on Solana.

To Apply: Send your published research, blog posts, Twitter threads, or other relevant work to [email protected] with the subject line "Researcher – Validator Economics".
