Applications for NFTs include collectibles, gaming items, domain names, digital art, and many other items backed by a blockchain. You will be one of the first few members of the legal team and will report directly to the General Counsel. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player that is passionate about NFTs and blockchain technology and happiest in a fast-paced, action-oriented environment.
Responsibilities: - Provide practical guidance to product, engineering, operations, and community teams on day-to-day issues, as well as foundational legal issues without clear solutions - Build and maintain scalable legal compliance and risk management frameworks and processes - Keep abreast of quickly developing regulatory landscape to forecast and head off legal challenges for rapidly scaling business - Develop, execute, and continually evaluate legal strategy in litigation and/or regulatory matters - Support business development initiatives and draft/negotiate contracts
Desired Qualifications 8+ years of legal experience, preferably with in-house experience with a consumer technology, crypto/blockchain, or high growth tech company - Experience running litigation and/or regulatory matters - Strong negotiation, risk-assessment, and dispute resolution skills - Track record of collaborative partnership with lawyers and non-lawyers to solve problems and get things done - Juris doctor from accredited law school - Member of a US state bar in good standing
