Web3 Head of Marketing

NATION is seeking a head of marketing to lead all cross-channel growth efforts of the core voting and fundraising product. We built NATION because we believe that web3 and blockchain is the perfect mechanism to help efficiently form capital in new ways and structure incentivized communities. The problem, though, is Web3 has been ridden with highly-technical, out-of-reach products that 1) don’t cater to the normal person and 2) tell stories through technical features, not outcomes.

We’ve built the NATION platform to feel like a normal website — not a complicated jet fighter that needs a masters in cryptography to use. NATION is at an impasse: there are many directions that the platform can head in, from focusing on entertainment to art communities to investment opportunities. Part of this challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to help make decisions on the future of the NATION platform while having a first-hand look as to how it’s growing and where opportunity lies. This role is a perfect fit for a boots-on-the-ground marketer who’s not afraid to jump into chatrooms, one on one emails, and user research calls. It’s a perfect fit for someone who indexes on action, not signaling. And it’s a perfect fit for someone that can craft compelling, digestible, and powerful marketing stories.

About You:

• You might be a right fit for this role if you’ve worked within a large marketing department in consumer technology, or at an agency.
• You’re autonomous, and accountable. If there’s a block in your way, you find a way around it. If you have a week without meetings, you see opportunity, not stasis.
• You’re prepared to grow a team, when the moment is right. With your work, NATION as a platform will scale, and so will you. You’re able to make educated hiring decisions — flexing both contractors, ambassadors, and full time resources — to grow a lean, action-oriented team.
• You’re okay with uncertainty. NATION is a startup — albeit a well-capitalized, fast-executing one — and things are always in flux. You thrive in a dynamic environment with many constantly-changing variables, and can see through the forest when things around you might seem dire.
• You’re looking for convexity. Your work will be instrumental in the growth and success of NATION. Opportunity is everywhere. You want to be incentivized for the platform to succeed.
• You employ the latest in divergent marketing tools and can build content plans across multiple different formats. You’ve already begun experimenting with generative AI and are excited about the ability to scale yourself through the power of the latest wave in tooling.
