Overview & Essential Duties
The NHL is the premier professional ice hockey league in the world, with 32 member Clubs vying for the most cherished and historic trophy in sports – the Stanley Cup®. For over 100 years the NHL has entertained fans with dazzling displays of skill, teamwork, heartache, and triumph.
We are seeking a Manager to join the NHL’s Innovation Team and support the development and implementation of league wide NFT initiatives with the goal to enhance the fan experience while generating incremental revenue for the League and its member Clubs.
This position requires a combination of project management and execution capabilities. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented person with a strong work ethic and can-do attitude to help the team execute in uncharted territory. A successful candidate will have a passion for the intersection of sports and technology. This is an exciting new opportunity to shape the future of NHL’s fastest growing business unit and work across the entire organization.
This role will:

• Manage day to day tasks across NHL league NFT initiatives
• Monitor the development and deployment of emerging NFT programs and platforms through project management software and regular communications; Ensure adherence to dates and milestones with development teams, vendors, and internal resources
• Work closely with strategic technology partners and vendors to ensure timely completion and distribution of NHL deliverables to ensure maximization of NFT-related opportunities
• Communicate with external technology partners and internal League departments (NHL Studios, Marketing, Social Media, Sponsorship, Legal, etc.); Coordinate dates, deliverables and timelines as part of regular internal communications to ensure each functional group is delivering on their workstream for each product and platform being developed
• Understand relevant data capture and alignment with league objectives; Assist with data gathering from industry sources and vendors/partners to ensure growth metrics are analyzed and maximized
• Assist in the execution of pilot projects and showcases to test and demonstrate new platforms in appropriate NHL environments
• Keep relevant with NFT industry knowledge and begin to build out a network of colleagues with external companies and other leagues

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field from accredited 4-year college or university is preferred
• MBA or other advanced degree preferred
• 3-5+ years of professional experience, preferably at a strategy consulting firm, major media company, or technology company
• Experience working as part of a team focused on delivering tier 1 products and firm understanding of cross-functional development projects
• Curiosity in testing and trialing new and emerging technologies
• Working knowledge of the NFT ecosystem: Platforms, Creators, Community Managers, Influencers, OEMs, Publishers, Developers, Agencies, Manufacturers, Gaming & Sports or Media
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Comfort juggling multiple projects, prioritizing stakeholder needs, and working under tight deadlines
• Proactive, self-starter who can work independently within set objectives
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint.
