Web3 Technical Project Manager APAC (Node Operator / Restaking systems/ AVSs)

The Role:

We are looking to onboard a responsible Project Manager to join our team, focusing on operating Ethereum validator systems and Eigenlayer AVSs (Actively Validated Services) for restaking solutions. You will be part of the Nethermind team, accountable for managing Nethermind Node Operator services and duties.

You will work remotely to lead a team in a different timezone and collaborate closely with them to ensure smooth operations, automate tasks, document processes, and continuously improve the system. Additionally, you will keep both internal and external stakeholders updated.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear understanding and delivery of project requirements. Provide regular updates and address concerns promptly.
• Identify and remove blockers to foster team growth and productivity, enabling high-quality work delivery.
• Promote transparent, direct, and professional communication within the team and with external stakeholders, ensuring clarity and effectiveness.
• Oversee project delivery to meet client expectations, ensuring on-time and within-budget completion with regular reviews to maintain high standards.
• Ensure effective monitoring and maintenance of production systems, including Ethereum validators, Blockchain nodes, AVSs, and other applications. Coordinate with the technical team for monitoring, troubleshooting, and regular maintenance.
• Lead incident response efforts, facilitating quick root cause identification and fixes. Manage on-call rotations for timely incident response outside normal hours.
• Oversee container orchestration technologies and optimize infrastructure costs for efficient resource utilization.
• Ensure thorough documentation of processes, procedures, post-incident reports, and best practices to maintain consistency and quality.
• Drive automation strategy to reduce manual infrastructure management, overseeing script, tool, and automation setup development using Terraform and CI/CD.

In this role, we need you to have experience in (you should have):

• Facilitate project goal setting, planning, estimating, retrospectives, and backlog grooming as needed. Ensure clear requirements and specifications for scheduled projects.
• Engage project teams for continuous improvement through regular feedback. Manage up to keep relevant people informed about key activities and developments.
• Create transparency in project updates and share reports with stakeholders.
• Lead and manage the hiring and staffing process to meet team strategic goals. Maintain and manage project financials.
• Help prioritize task backlogs and lead product roadmap initiatives. Hold regular technical team meetings to track progress and address inquiries or challenges.
• Contribute to project management best practices, identifying and mitigating potential risks.

Nice to have skills

• Understanding of the infrastructure, deployment strategy, and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of the Ethereum Roadmap.
• Understanding of Liquid Staking Protocols and Eigenlayer.
• Comprehensive understanding of financial market principles.
• Knowledge of the entire Software Development Life Cycle and software architecture.

Location / Timezone:

The location is APAC however this position requires the candidate to work within the GMT+8 time zone, with a standard work schedule from

• 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM in GMT+8 time zone.

Flexibility is available, allowing for a shift start time 2 hours earlier or later.
