Senior Backend Engineer - Node/TypeScript

We're working on a new venture, still in stealth, in the financial industry. As part of this venture,
we're looking for an experienced Backend Engineer, passionate about building high-quality
products on a modern cloud-based microservice oriented infrastructure. You will be actively
contributing to the development of our Node/TypeScript microservices.
About the role:

About the role:
As a senior backend engineer, you will be:
- Joining a small product focused engineering team working directly with a small cross
functional team of designers, product managers and venture builders. - Leading the development of backend features in a serverless framework architecture
for our customer facing web apps. - Collaborating closely with engineering leadership on alignment and planning
- Maintaining high standards of code quality, ensured by appropriate testing.
- Thriving in a fast-paced environment where ambiguity is the norm.
About you:
- Know the ins, outs, strengths and limitations of Node.js and TypeScript.
- Design and implementation of low latency, high availability and scalable application
services in Node.js. - Have production understanding of various data storage solutions (AWS RDS/Aurora
etc.) - Implement automated unit and E2E tests.
- Write reusable, testable and efficient code.
- Diagnose problematic code and implement corrective solutions.
Nice to haves:
- Experience in financial services
- Building to a high degree of compliance and risk assessment in a highly regulated industry
- Experience building to acceptance criteria in project issue tracking platforms such as Jira
- You have experience developing and maintaining cloud-based technologies (Infrastructure as Code, AWS)
