What is Candy?

Candy’s mission is to deepen our connection to experiences that bring us joy. As fans. As collectors. As people creating lives we’re passionate about living. We understand that connection because we’ve chased it since we were kids. We are unapologetic fans and serious collectors who see limitless possibility in the digital revolution that’s disrupting – more like exploding – the way we engage and experience our favorite sports, music, art and cultural icons.

Become part of the Candy team

We’re on the lookout for a VP, Legal to help build the legal team here at Candy. You’ll be responsible for commercial contracts across our business -- including IP, rights acquisition and marketing -- and for establishing organization-wide contracting processes. You will also advise the Candy executive team on more general legal and compliance issues in a fast-paced tech start-up environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Negotiate, draft and review an array of commercial transactions, rights, and licensing agreements
  • Establish organization-wide processes for contract flow
  • Work with business partners to create templates and guidelines to allow teams to independently address common commercial needs
  • Partner with product, design, and engineering to identify and evaluate business and legal risks, while working to find ways to mitigate risk and achieve business goals
  • Train and educate the Company’s business teams on legal issues relating to its commercial relationships and agreements, including playbooks and FAQs

What you’ll bring:

  • JD from an accredited U.S. Law School; licensed in good standing with state bar
  • 5+ years of experience in intellectual property rights
  • 2+ years in a fast-paced technology company
  • Creative thinker who is comfortable with change, ambiguity and pace, and is able to bring a first principles approach to building scalable processes
  • A love of sports, collectibles, and/or popular culture

What we offer:

Our team-based culture provides the foundation for people to do their best work and constantly learn and grow. We offer a full slate of benefits, including competitive salaries, stock options, health coverage, and unlimited vacation. Given that we’re an early stage startup our benefits package continues to evolve as we do.

To build the creative, innovative community we aspire to be, we know we need different perspectives and lived experiences. We value diversity and difference and believe that creating a place in which everyone can be their authentic self is the key to our success. Join us to find out what it means to be part of a new blockchain-enabled marketplace for the next generation of fans and collectors. And don’t be modest—we tend to believe people are usually more qualified than they think.
