Senior accountant

We are currently looking for an accountant willing to join our rapidly growing startup in Austin. Required Skills

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• CPA desired but not required
• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
• Able to set up QuickBooks Online and integrate systems such as Expensify / JustWorks
• Highly proficient in Excel
• Desire someone who understands cryptocurrency and is comfortable managing crypto-assets
• Ability to work independently (remote), be flexible and keep deadlines
• Flexibility to work within a startup environment and assist with various business functions when needed

Expected Roles & Tasks

• Manage payroll process
• Prepare month-end journal entries and account reconciliations following established policies and procedures in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Take ownership of all assigned month-end close processes and responsibilities and ensure their accurate and timely completion
• Oversee and monitor spending across several accounts
• Generate quarterly financial reports
• Generate purchase orders
• Perform any account payable / receivables
• Generate employment offers and contracts
• Budget management and reviews for all departments
• Handle coordination and management with tax accounting firm
• Direct and coordinate treasury and cash management
• Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls
