More practically, Fractional is a decentralized, permission-less protocol where NFT owners can mint tokenized fractional ownership of their NFTs. About the role:

We are looking for an exceptional backend engineer to join our team and work closely with our CTO and web stack developers to build a scalable backend infrastructure including database schema decisions and API development as we build our product foundation for rapid growth and continued innovation in this exciting space! Experience with blockchain, NFTs, and DeFi is preferred.

Our Evolving Tech Stack
Front End: HTML, CSS, JS, Vue.js
Back End: Redis, MySQL, Node.js
Infrastructure: DigitalOcean, AWS (S3), Cloudfront
Automated testing: ~under construction~
Web3: Solidity/Ethereum
Integrations: browser-based crypto wallets such as MetaMask, APIs

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience in backend engineering and Node.js
• Extensive experience with Git & Github
• Expert knowledge of Node.js and the Node.js ecosystem
• Experience in working with Express js
• Strong expertise in JavaScript/ES6
• Good understanding of the HTTP stack
• Experience designing, building, extending, and implementing APIs
• Strong experience in MySql, SQL, and writing stored procedures and optimized queries
• Familiarity with cloud services, job queues, message brokers, container technologies and microservice architectures
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of an area of code
• Fluency with Linux command line tools
• Strong experience with testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end)

Bonus points for

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
• Previous experience in a start-up environment
• Familiar with blockchain and working with NFT metadata
• Experience using CI/CD | Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment systems
• Previous experience in a highly scaled, major tech company
• DevOps / DevSecOps experience
• Experience working with and building structures to extract, transform, and load blockchain transaction data
• Understanding of various DeFi and NFT platforms
• Experience with writing ETL processes
